Hopefully, it's a bellwether for our 2nd year players next season. Mostly Fleming and Maluach and hopefully, maybe even Brea too. I also hope Dunn gains more confidence and becomes more aggressive on offense. When he did that, like in the last regular season game against OKC, he was MUCH more effective. When he never looked to score, much less so. I hope he takes the next step as well.

I did a lot of in-game Oso bashing. But truth is, for where we got him and where he started, he’s been a find. A great player? No. But a legitimate rotation player. I just wish it was lower down the rotation. My concern is that his greatest issue - a complete inability to shoot the ball, doesn’t seem to be improving. And that will forever hold him back if he can’t improve. Because the other aspects of his game aren’t likely to get better. He’s already a good ball handler and passer and screener for a big. He isn’t growing taller or getting more athletic. So shooting seems his lone path to improvement.

he needs the jumpshot but fortunately for oso i'm thinking it'll only need to be from one spot

top of the key below the 3 - it's where he makes his living with the passes and he is improving at the pick and roll from there as well

someone said he's having secret practices working on his jumpshot - if true i'd bet you $100 it's from that spot - it would still keep all the spacing correct but more importantly it would prevent his defenders (centers) from sagging down and protecting the paint at the same time

i wasn't worried about him having a jumpshot but it's an issue - harder to pass to cutters - makes it harder to get offensive boards when their big is already there waiting to box out

I think Oso could be a version of a Luke Kornet type player, except better. Oso is quite athletic and versatile other than his shooting. There are probably better comparisons.

I think he's somewhere between a poor man's Lamar Odom and a rich man's Luke Walton. Or... maybe just Luke Walton with better D and no mid range.

Oso doesn't even look at the rim is how pathetic it is for him. Least pump fake or show a shot even if you are not going to shoot, make the defense react. But to not even look at it...sheesh

The Suns recently fully guaranteed Oso Ighodaro's contract for next season, per @BobbyMarks42.

Ighodaro was the only Sun to appear in all 82 games in 2025-26, averaging 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

There's quite a few bigs without jump shots. Oso is on the severe end of it. But I don't want a guy taking jumpers just to keep a defense "honest" if he sucks at it. Oso is playing within his capabilities. Sometimes that is way better then guys that "think" they can shoot.

Arguably even with an average jumper, let's say, defensively he is solid, but he doesn't scare any opposing teams scorers at all. He would still probably be a back up center just based on size and defense.
