Lack of an outside shot and .466 free throw shooting (thus far this season) realistically makes Oso Ighodaro a backup center at best.

like i said bro - idc about the jumpshot just the free throws but im not super confident he can fix it

Free shooting is often an indicator of how well a player can shoot from outside so I'm not confident either can be fixed. I like Oso's game but it pushes him down the depth chart in a tight game or the playoffs.

Been saying this all season. Great guy. But he is as far from a NBA starting Center as I am…
Solid career backup is his calling. 10 mins per game… and he’d be totally acceptable.

if oso shows up to camp sinking free throws mark williams is likely looking for a new home - but maluach is the plan

If that is the criteria, then it looks like Mark Williams is staying put.

I like to see the rookies play, but the Suns need at least three backup centers if the Suns pay Williams. The Suns interior defense and rebounding is lacking.

I didn't know it was an either or answer. Every move will have to be taken in context of other moves.

The Suns do have some decisions to make, though.

Nah, I didn't watch Highlander.

agreed - in highlander they always said "there can only be one" - i think that's where we'll be with williams and gillespie

The Suns will likely have to explore trades, whether we like it or not.

alrighty - let's delve into it because it could become an issue - hell it could become why we pay mark williams

hack-a-oso shot 50% on 6 free throws

he looked shocked and missed the first two

then missed the first and made the second

then made both his free throws which was huge

point is - this was the first time we've seen this strategy and we should be thankful it took place before the playoffs - correct?

and let us note that ott kept oso in and oso improved under pressure on the fly in the clutch - i'm not just saying that because i'm an oso guy - those aren't opinions that's what happened - regardless we have to expect it in the play-in if williams is unable to go so let us be familiar

Six free throws not enough data to claim he improved under pressure. He was only a tad higher than his pathetic season average. So what we should expect if it’s deployed again.

The Devin Booker-Oso Ighodaro PnR tandem, as spoken on at length last season, has ascended to ELITE territory.

For tandems with 380+ reps, their 1.05 points per chance mark ranks 8th.

Screening higher + Oso's growth in skill & pick contact (!) have been impactful developments.

Well. I haven't been on here in a while, and I was a huge critic of Oso early on. It was all about his shot. However, I have changed my tune. He works hard on D. He moves like a guard with the length of a pf/c. He has the handles of a guard and the passing ability of a pg. Plus, he carries himself on the court like he belongs. He is a really nice piece to have right now, and for a second-round pick that is a huge win.

Yeah, his demeanor on the court is so different compared to last year. His confidence has grown tremendously, I credit Ott for a bunch of it, as he's not the only one.

Oso Ighodaro now has 108 dunks this season. He's playing his 78th game of the year

Last season: 50 dunks in 61 games
