Next to Devin Booker, Jalen Green is averaging 26.4 PTS per 36 minutes on 55.3 TS% with 4.4 AST (25 GP).

That would be a career-best PTS per 36, career-best AST per 36, on career-best TS% efficiency.

Green is really intriguing. His defense has been a nice surprise. He is not a defensive stopper, but he seems to be a plus defender, or at worst, slightly above average,
On offense, he is very quick, and can get to the rim, which is something they really need on this roster. I really like him when he lets the game come to him. Pass the ball, move, score. I really dislike him when he starts to go for isolation. I can't tell if he just has very low basketball IQ or if he just needs to learn to play within the flow of the game. It's really hard to tell because he missed so many games. If he can learn how to be a scorer within the flow of the game, he will be insanely good. He just needs to stop the iso stuff, realize he is not a great distributor, and quit being a ball stopper. I just haven't seen enough of him this year to even guess whether or not it's low basketball IQ or just learning how to play in a new system.

Based on the numbers at that sample size, he plays well with Booker. He provides scoring which we have lacked at times, and going to the hole is a big plus. Should not be a problem for him to dish it out to open shooter on the same side of the hoop, like a Collin Gillespie, or a hockey assist.

That our game has dropped off when he got back from injury might be a coincidence. Ott is not doing us any favours benching the (healthy) energy and defense guys and going small. Mark Williams must get involved.

It's also that time of the year/season when teams start separating from the pack. Less trial and error with more game planning. If Green came back a month earlier it would have dramatically changed how things are playing out. Ott is taking some lumps but hopefully a healthy Dillon and Williams can be worked back into things before the postseason..

On career-best efficiency but he’s the worst shooter on the team.

Before their draft, I thought Jalen Green would be a little better than Cade Cunningham because Jalen was a way better shooter than Cade was at OkSt. Obviously Cade has proven to be mentally/physically tougher. But Jalen, away from Ime, is now exploding as a shooter/scorer.

I never would have guessed Cade would be the better PG of the 2. Better player, sure, but not point guard.

Really happy for Jalen, seems like such a good kid.

Jalen Green’s Play-In statistics:

35.5 points
5.5 rebounds
3 assists
3 stocks
68.7 TS%

For the Suns to pull off a competitive series against the Thunder, Green will need to keep this heater going.
