The Colts structured Daniel Jones’ contract where they can easily get out of it after next season, if necessary.

If Indianapolis moved on from Jones with a post-June 1 designation, they would save $38 million while only incurring an $8.8 million dead cap charge in 2027.

GM Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen both enter next season on the hot seat, too.
Their ownership is preparing...

So a creative contract

Monti

Are you learning how it could be done?

Yesterday while looking thru espn's website, I saw an article where they graded the top 100 free agents. I did not read the article but skimmed thru it looking for any of the Cardinals signings. From what I saw, they gave our signings a's and b's. I did not see any lower grades than that for our signings. As I said I just scrolled thru the article and probably missed a few.
To be honest, they did not give out a whole lot of c's and only a couple of d's. Don't know if any on here has referenced that or not.

Williams is an interesting choice. He’s a pass rush specialist. If he continues in this role it should make it difficult for QBs to step up in the pocket. This could be huge for Sweat and other outside rushers. When Nolen returns this could be a very formidable rush.

I hate it when you make me do this. "Pass rush specialist"?

He played 33% of snaps for the Saints last year and had 8 pressures. That is little to no impact. It's tied for 178th in the NFL and the same as Jordan Burch. He is 30.

Come on man.

It is a bizarre/bewildering take.

Wait I’m pretty sure I can find a thread about not one but several posters saying how
Much he sucked and had little
Impact last year? Was another failed Monti signing? Which is it?
I think you will see Dalvin have a nice impact in LA this year.

I bet Dalvin has more combined pressures and TFLs in LA than Roy Lopez has for AZ since it is kinda a 1 for 1 swap. Both are NTs and Dalvin's contract is only 2 mil more than Roy's.

Stats came from PFF though I no longer subscribed. In 2025 Williams had a career high in pressures (11), sacks (3), tackles for loss (5), and quarterback hits (5). I don’t hate it a bit when you force me to do this. If I got upset about reasonable disagreements, I’d have disappeared long ago. I hate sniping, but statistics are like how a drunk uses a lamp post; more for support than illumination. Mostly he’s used on probable passing downs. He’s no star, but he’s functional in his role.

Pass rusher David Ojabo is signing with the Miami Dolphins, per source.

Former second-round pick of the Ravens gets a fresh start with new Miami regime.

Because they're smarter than us.
He is just fine as a DL. He's a run stuffer and not a pass rusher. If Monti signed him to collapse pockets, Monti messed up...again. So instead of keeping the perfectly fungible DT, we cut him, won't use the cap space, and created another hole on an overstaffed yet undermanned DL.
