If he could reliably catch a football, they’d throw it to him more often.

The 69 (nice) targets in four seasons is the more relevant stat here than the catch rate. Michael Carter had 45 targets for us last year.
Bijan Robinson is their #1 back and had over 100 targets out of the field. Robinson is only a 75% catch rate, so maybe it is a coaching thing.

How do you explain only 15 targets in his rookie season?

David Montgomery still saw 50 targets combined over the past two seasons in Detroit despite having a similar role.

Trey McBride and Tip Reiman have the same career catch rate %. Is Tip Reiman a top receiving TE?

A frustration of mine is that I spend way too much time watching and following football. A majority of that is outside of the Arizona Cardinals. When I say that Tyler Allgeier is not a pass catching threat, it isn't to crap on him as a player or depress the fan base, it's to provide information I know about him as a player and what he can do.

Like how many people have spent time looking up his season high in receptions in college at BYU prior to his rookie season with the Falcons? (it's 28 by the way)

You said he couldn't catch a football. Not sure what anything else has to do with that. That was what I was responding to. Everything else is you two moving the goal post.

If James Conner couldn't catch a football.

Dan Skipper has a 100% catch rate and 50% of his catches have resulted in a TD. I am using the same philosophy that you are making with Allgeier.

Yeah 5 years from now, Love might be the only Star from this draft (as a casual fan who’s been following the draft about 23 years, I’ve never seen a worse draft class). If that’s the case, would anyone be upset we picked him 3rd overall? The answer is absolutely not.
I wanted him and Willis

His season high for receptions is 18. Allgeier has 61 career receptions over 4 seasons. James Connor had 58 receptions in 2022 alone.
Ok great, that doesn’t change that he has solid numbers when targeted. He’s played most of his career alongside an excellent receiving back, of course he isn’t getting a rb1 target load. You framed him as useless in the pass game which isn’t the case.

Idk why you have this posting style where you have a strong opinion on every single thing and then are unable to admit you might be wrong or misguided.

My response was to it being said he can't catch. He had 18 and Robinson had 80some, buy he had a much higher catch rate.
This feels like a pretty pedantic point. If he were capable of being a weapon in the passing game, he surely would have seen more targets.

It doesn’t seem reasonable that Choppers point was that Tyler is fundamentally unable to catch a ball directed his way.

He is a professional athlete. He can catch a football. He does not have the receiving skills to be a weapon at the college or NFL level. Maybe that better highlights his limitations.

In NFL terms, Tyler Allgeier is equivalent to Derrick Henry as a receiving option. Not really one.

And I have this style because I am generally not wrong or misguided. It's not that I can't be wrong, it's more that I don't go hard into things unless I am pretty certain I am right.

Looking around the web today and am hearing him described as a James Conner Lite. A little smaller build, lighter weight, similar toughness, and difficult to bring down easy. Not bad things to say about a guy. Edited to add: younger, too.
Running ability definitely similar.

I know this is supposed to be hype but it’s actually depressing.

The average NFL team rushed for 4.4 YPC last season. If he’d met this standard last season he would have just edged out Tyrone Tracey Jr of the Giants for 30th among qualifying rushers.
