Look, there has been more actual reports that Bidwill offered high dollar to some of these guys, not cheap Bidwill as his father which has been justified during his ownership, than pure assumptions
I don’t think Mike B is as cheap as he’s often made out to be. I think he lacks the personality traits to be empathetic and effective as an NFL owner. I don’t think he understands what it truly means to value people as people and employees nor what it takes on his end to put them in a position to succeed for the organization, whether it be players, coaches, kitchen workers etc.

Maybe Bidwill just legit doesn't care about winning. Just like his old man.
Wow, that reminds me of a guy I worked with that shouldn't have even still been employed said...You don't want to lead the pack because you'll be ambushed but you don't want to be last because you'll be eaten, just stay in the middle and you'll be fine. Unfortunately, welcome to art Bidwill, M. school of business.

And, yes, Even I see the irony of stating the cardinals are in the "middle" of the pack

You know, I like this....little Mikey grew up with the silver spoon in his mouth and most likely doesn't have the empathy most people grow up learning....but, thinking about it...why can't he learn to be a better owner since this is his only path in life, why not make it as good as you can?
Ok, I'm a football fan, I don't have a Harvard degree...this is over my head

So, back to this Long John Silver thing..... LOL

There are a ton of examples of him being cheap, (many of which have been shared on this very board!) but some people will never believe it.

Stop lol. Do I need to send you our injury reports week to week? You couldn’t be more wrong.
Tomlinson, Calais played all season. Sweat and zaven 14 games of season. The davis-gaither played 17 games this season. Budda (17) and Thompson (15) this season. Will Johnson 12 games this season. What are you talking about?

I’m not saying he can’t, just that I don’t think he does. I wish he would.

Case in point:

My wife and I run a business. She’s been involved in the day to day for fifteen years longer than I. We have 30 employees. She’s known them all wayyy longer than me. I know each of their kids’ names. She knows none of them. I know she cares for her employees but I also know she doesn’t feel that that caring and showing concern so they know they’re cared about are two different things. I downsized the company when I came on and only kept people that I’d feel comfortable having at my dinner table with my kids. If I feel that way about someone then, in my mind, I should care enough to know how the kids at their dinner table are doing. If these are the type of men and women I think they are (and want them to be) then they should expect and respect me caring about their family as much as their dedication to their jobs shows their concern for mine. Maybe I’m weird. She def thinks I am. I know firsthand though that being honest, sincere and “in the trenches” so to speak with my employees has earned us a workforce that is widely known to be head and shoulders above that of our rival companies who are 2-3 times the size.

Simply put, I don’t think Mike knows how to be family with his employees. At all. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t have one, who knows? From my experience though, if a man doesn’t think you’ll bleed and sacrifice for him, he’d be an idiot to do that for you. If he’s an idiot, he’s not what I would want in a friend, family member, or employee anyway.

Games missed by just the defense

Justin Jones 17
LJ Collier 13
B Nichols 13

W Nolen 11
D Robinson 2
M Wilson 9
B Browning 2
Ojulari 9
C Simon 1
Murphy Bunting 17
Starling Thomas 17
J Blount 16
G Williams 7
Melton 7
W Johnson 5
Rabbit 5
J Thompson 2
K Clark 2
Crawford 2

Budda 1
Hall 1

By FAR, the most in the NFL.
I’m laughing at all the bolded guys. HUGE impact guys. And you listed 7 guys who missed 1 or 2 games. Yawn. By my estimate that’s 46 games lost by starters. The majority of which were mostly nolen, Wilson and one of either SMB/starling (as the goal was to start Will Johnson).

Again, I said “I don’t think he’s as cheap as people make it out to be”. Since you’re obviously struggling with comprehension here, that means that I do think he is cheap. I just don’t think he’s as cheap as is often said. I have been in situations, primarily when we took over the company where, for the benefit of the company (everyone involved) I had to be cheap. There wasn’t enough money to go around. I went to people and vendors and said openly, “I know you or this product or your services are worth more than this but this is all I can physically afford right now. If you can roll with me on it, I promise to make better on it when I can because I want you to know I recognize that it’s deserving. If not, I can respect it. Doing that salvaged and even created lasting relationships. Same result but an honest and empathetic delivery can and often do go a long way imo.

I think we should all be able to agree that Davis Gaither was not what anyone had hoped for.

Yeah. Great post. You’re right. The captain of our Special Teams doesn’t matter at all. That’s why they made him captain. The other 84 games missed by starters didn’t matter either. Epstein hung himself too and must’ve done it out of guilt. Brett Farve was a great human being but had a noodle arm. If only Steve Nash could’ve learned to pass the ball, he’d of made one heck of a player.
I don’t really care about this because you’re caping a post excusing our terrible defense because of injury.

I had zero hope for him. But he was still a starter at years beginning. That’s what the coaching staff determined. That’s what the gm signed him as.
I can’t argue with that. I tried to drink Kool aid and not question his signing. I wasn’t surprised by his performance and that’s not a good thing.

Did you not read what I wrote????????? The Niners had enough talent and explosiveness on the offensive side of the ball to overcome weaknesses on their D. The Cardinals were equally banged up on both sides of the ball. Hell, we were playing with 5th stringers in the RB room. Silly to compare the Niners injuries to the Cardinals. We had FAR more.

Crazy that a career backup who never did anything of significance with a bad defense was bad here!

That's the thing - you guys gas up anyone who wears a red bird on their helmet, regardless of whether they are any good at all. It's why the entire kool-aid crew chooses to live in an alternate reality where the Cards are ackshually good!

For the record: injuries and poor roster construction are ABSOLUTELY an excuse for/major contributor to poor offensive performance.

It’s not an excuse for the defense.

Every year it's like Groundhog Day over and over and over and...

I will expect the worst and hope for the best. Just...like...every...frickin'...year. That's the best I can muster.

ML has a HUGE mountain to climb and, it seems, doesn't have much equipment to try to scale it (on paper). But, we'll see won't we?
They should consider changing the name to AZ Groundhogs.

They would be doing me a favor. I’ve always said that if they ever removed the Cardinal nickname, I would no longer be a fan. I only became a football Cardinal fan after being a hard core baseball Cardinal fan.
