How reliable is that guy? None of the traditionally big insiders have reported it.

Anyway, if true it is highly disappointing. The options were Karl Scott and Aubrey Pleasant, and they end up with Rallis?!? Really? I liked his defense the first year, but when he got some good players to work with, things went downhill. Maybe because he suddenly called a more traditional defense?

I guess I could get onboard with him if he started implementing another defense than that soft, passive crap from last season, and if they also hire some defensive advisor.

And retaining the offensive line-coach just makes me sick. Major, major disappointment.

Kyler Murray gave this team five 4th quarter leads to start the season and Nick Rallis' defense coughed up 3 leads and nearly a 4th.

The offensive line gave us under 97 yards a game rushing and 21st in sacks allowed.

These are the coaches we are keeping? Is the intent here to tank and then go get coaches next year?
Don’t worry things are going to be great.

This is why you bring in an experienced HC with a winning record. They aren’t going to put up with crap like this. They know how to win and won’t listen to idiots like Bidwill, M. and MO who have zero idea what it takes to win in this league.

MLF has his work cut out for him if this is how he starts at a poverty franchise.

This is what happens when you hire the last Head Coach in a cycle. All the coordinators have been hired elsewhere already. Also, decades of underpaying their coaches, according to 98.7 radio, and none of the coaches want to land in Phoenix, or only as a last resort or springboard on the way up in their careers. They really needed to grossly overpay for a cycle to get in a big name HC and staff to try and turn the narrative that they are a last place organization. I mean, the Raiders suck right now and they outpulled the Cardinals for a HC. That should be a sign to Bidwill his organization is seen as the last resort in the NFL.

We could have and should have hired Mike LaFleur almost a week earlier than we did. :bang: The staff candidate pool would have been somewhat better if we did. :(

The experienced head coaches with winning records didn't want to come here. :(

I find it hilarious that anyone thinks that hiring the head coach a week earlier would have made a substantive difference in who LaFleur & the Cardinals will be able to hire as assistants. It is what it is, whether it's now or last week the Cardinals simply aren't a desirable job right now. Hopefully they start winning more and that changes. Rallis has done some good things so I'm not entirely against retaining him as long as he's willing to analyze some of the shortcomings the defense has had under him and adapt.

Digging deep for some kind of positive. Looking back at 2024 our defense was middle of the pack. We gave up 10 more yards a game and allowed the same amount of td’s that Seattle did. With the depleted db room and various other injuries obvious things went south. Like I said REALLY digging for a positive spin.
O-line ???? The only positive spin I can come up with is money. Bidwill saves money. Period.

If MB won’t pony up money for top of the line coaches what is there to totally convince us Bidwill is going to move off Kyler…and then spend another 20m for a guy like Willis ( or anybody?)

I can envision Kyler staying put watching him scamper around for his life. Conner returning and drafting Simpson with our 3rd pick. The BS line will be Kyler is the quickest and lowest risk way to turn this around. We like Kyler. We love Kyler. Always have. Now under coach ML we expect him to be successful. Our first hint was when ML said “ Kyler presents a problem.”

Gang, as fans, we are nothing more than a hangnail on the fickle finger of fate.

I mean, if MLF interviewed Rallis, Pleasant, Bullen and the Seahawks guy and came away thinking Rallis was the better option then what do we know? On the face of it, I'd rather see fresh blood, but I also said at the start of this I wouldn't mind seeing Rallis as his own guy. The first 2 years the defense played above it's talent level. Rallis is only 32 and one of the brightest young defensive minds in football.

Do people think we interviewed multiple guys and then Mike said "Nah, I don't want to burn the $1 million I'm paying Rallis even though I already burned several million on other coaches. You can suck it LeFleur and keep Nick". Really?

I'm sure this will be one of the times that Vontel thinks I "defended Bidwill" but I prefer to call it thinking logically and not inventing crap.
You just can't help yourself.

Why the heck are we keeping a guy who failed badly at his job last season, Frye, and keeping another guy who failed badly at his job last season, Rallis? :bang: :help:
I like the hiring of Mike LaFleur as the head coach but I'm not happy with the coordinator situation.
I think that LaFleur knows first hand what a solid defensive mind Rallis is & that sometimes injuries DO matter. Instead of hiring someone with no experience calling defensive plays, he now has someone with 3 years of experience doing just that. No one has success calling plays when you’re forced to play 3rd & 4th string guys. I don’t think this is etched in stone, but if it is, I’m ok with it.

I respect your willingness to stretch to try to be positive.

They sure are making Gannon the scapegoat. Monti, Rallis, and Frye all returning to key positions on this. craptastic team.
They went through all this rigamaroll and all they're basically doing is hiring a new OC but making him the HC.
Maybe Gannon refused to fire Petzing after all & that’s why they let him go.

Mack Wilson must of been Fred Warner in Rallis’ defense because the defense fell off a cliff once Wilson went out for the season.
True, but replacing him with a 4th round rookie in a complicated scheme didn’t help either.
