Yes coaches never talk to a GM about what they need team wise………………..

Dear lord have you people ever been on any type of team?

Again, how would they know what they need team-wise when they haven't been on a field with any of the players? And why would the FO listen to their opinions based off tape when they have a whole scouting department that's been with these players in the building for several years?

Oh they'll still blame K1.

15 years from now the Never-Murrays will still be blaming our close losses on something Murray posted on his social media or something.

Everyone blames it on his inconsistent and mediocre quarterback play. Not social media.

Dear lord, they are coaches in the fricking NFL you don’t think they have watched tape of this team numerous times? This is especially true of MLF. Add in the fact what type of offense and defense they want to run coming to a new team.

Stop making excuses for Bidwill, M.. What time is dinner in Paradise Valley don’t want you being late.

Do I think, for example, the new wide receiver coach from Minnesota has watched Arizona Cardinals wide receiver tape? No, no, I do not.

Is he probably cramming a bunch of tape over the next few weeks? Yes, I would guess so. But does that qualify him to give an opinion without working with any of the players? Over the staff in the building that have worked with them for several years? No.

This idea that you have imagined that by hiring later we're missing out on some valuable nuggets of position coach contributions to the draft is, like most of your takes on here, complete nonsense.

Now I'm sure Mike will have a lot of input when he gets to the draft, and I'm sure Mike will take some feedback from coaches once they've had a bunch of time to get up to speed. But that is more likely to be a DC saying this is a scheme I want, I need a guy that can do this, I've watched the tape, and I can't see this guy on the roster at the moment. There's still two months to do that though, so I'm not sure what you think we're missing out on at the combine.

The Rams, and I'm sure a bunch of other teams now, don't even attend the combine at all. I'm sure all the staff will be in place by the time pro days come around. Even then, I would imagine that most position coaches won't attend pro days; they normally leave that to scouts and FO. I think you have a mistaken impression of how much coaches, especially position coaches and coordinators, contribute to the draft.

Heck, might as well trade all our 2026 draft picks for 2027 draft picks. I mean, how can they draft anyone when they can't figure out what they need team-wise when they haven't been on the field?

Oh yeah, wait, there's this thing called film...And they would listen to the opinions of their newly-acquired staff because, well, they trust and want to work collaboratively with them? I mean, if they don't, what are the Cards even doing here.

I'm not surprised to see you leap to the organization's defense, though.

I don't believe any coach in the league, not one worth their salt, would evaluate their own roster without working with them. It's like judging a meal by the recipe.

But either way, the only way coaches are involved in the draft process is film evaluation of prospects. They rarely, if ever, go to the combine. And they rarely go to pro days. In March/April they will help by watching tape, going through scouting reports etc but that is all weeks away.

There's also a whole bunch of teams that haven't filled out their coaches.
