Not really, the Raiders are promoting an up and coming coach who interviewed for the job. We are retaining our failed DC who didn't interview with the new HC. Definitely not the same.
I don’t think there’s evidence of this. In fact, I think MLF said he was impressed with him when they spoke.

This is comforting

This is something Garoffolo has imagined. It's clear in how he's worded it.

"Yeah, there's no question in my mind that was at least relayed from Jonathan to Matt [LaFleur] to Mike that way. I saw Matt was at the press conference, he certainly loves his brother, the two are tight. There's certainly communication between the two," Garafolo said on PHNX Cardinals.

"There's communication between coaching staffs more than we probably realize. ... I have no doubt that communication [took place], at least through the way that we talked about, if not directly between Gannon and Mike LaFleur. He loves Rallis, he thinks he's always been on point."

Sad, everyone gets better but us.

How is this 45 year old guy, that you literally never heard of until this week, better?

A guy who's only ever interviewed for one other OC job (Pats last year) and whose total experience as an offensive position coach is 4 years as TE coach at San Fran?

It's a clear downgrade from Kubiak. He might be good, but he's not going to be Kubiak good. Seahawks got worse.

Let's remember the first 8 games of 2025.

All 5 losses, we had leads in the 4th QTR (we couldn't hold a lead)
3 of those losses were FG's as time expired (we couldn't get a stop on last possession)

Who was the DC again?

Let's just say the only reason I didn't release a screaming string of expletives was because I was at work. fudge Bidwill, M.--on, and fudge MLF too, for accepting this bull puckey just to get a job.

MLF is showing he was desperate for the job by not demanding he gets to hire his own staff like every other respectable HC.

Oh well more of the same next season and a possible tuning out early by us fans. I will be living on the redzone channel if the Cards are unwatchable again.

5 of those games we allowed 22 points or less...those aint defensive losses...but signs that your offense cannot keep the ball.
now, if the defense were "great"...then certainly they would have shut the other team down, and closed out the game by getting the ball back. But those scores show they clearly played well the entire game...right up until the very end anyway.

I'm going to agree with you Oaken1Kenobi (hope you don't mind me calling you that ◡̈ ). I said in another post that I didn't understand how our defense was not as bad in 2024 as it was in 2025. I think somewhere along the line, someone said play it safe and it cost us several games. Was that Rallis of Gannon? That is the ultimate question and since they retained Rallis, I'm thinking it was Gannon forcing Rallis to play conservatively. That is my stance until proven otherwise!

...probably the same guy that insisted we continue to run with a 4 man rush even though it was clear we didnt have the dogs to be successful at it...

Thats why I dont trip on retaining Rallis right now...
dude wasnt the boss. he might have called plays but he called plays based on the style and game plan his defensive boss set forth for him.

Im curious to see how he develops as a DC when he has the decision making power. does he grow when things get tough or will he curl up and revert back to what JG told him will work??
The hope of course is that he took his lumps and learned most of his lessons under JG so he is a more capable DC standing on his own now that he is the shot caller.

It’s possible. But let’s not think good organizations do things the Cardinals way. Many good organizations just reload - both player talent and coaching talent. They could be just as good, or even better.
