If no one wants to trade him then, what? We keep an unhappy, unproductive player on the bench for a gazillion dollars? Or is this just further fantasy that he can stay and start here for the 17th season?

I understand Murray did not meet expectations in 2025, but did he play so poorly that it justifies outright cutting him?

His attitude? Yes, 1000 times yes. The only-ONLY way--this would work would be if he were willing to take on a backup role without pouting or complaint. Personally, I would reject even that, but for the franchise, that would be the only outlier outcome that would be acceptable. Personally, I don't think even that would make Bidwill, M. keep him. About the only thing I agree with our owner on is starting over at QB.

Stout you and I have scant evidence that his attitude is so poor as to justify cutting him. All we have is mostly conjecture and hearsay.

Disagree. No one can say he handled last season's benching well, nor do I think anyone can argue he deserved to be benched. Who here actually thinks it's a good idea to bring him back?

Crimson, do you think he would have a good attitude if we kept him, sat him, and brought in a new starter/developmental starter for Kyler to mentor? I mean, not that I think Kyler should be mentoring anyone, but the question stands.

It seems to me that it would be a bad business decision to pay a guy to not be on the team vs paying him to be on the team.
Depends on the guy. This isn't rocket science. Keeping Kyler on the team is seen to be keeping a negative influence. It's addition by subtraction, gaining fresh air in the QB room by getting rid of the guy who, rightly or wrongly, is responsible for a toxic air in the QB room.

I haven't read this whole thread but I haven't seen anything that points to Murray being a cancer in the clubhouse.

Of course Kyler has friends on the team. But we haven’t heard 1 word from Kyler since the Dallas game. Nothing about our new head coach…. Nothing about nothing.
That’s all you need to know where he stands.

I have no idea how he would respond to being a back up Stout.

They are both stupid and inept. Add in not knowing they are both.

Probably the worst combination on planet earth.
602, I'll say one thing. Your unwavering support of K1 is admirable. You mentioned you were a small business owner, and if you run your business with the same compassion, I'm sure you are successful....respect

But....LOL

QB is a unique position where it can be detrimental to the team to have a position battle. That's the reason you see vets with young QBs, or young QBs with worse QBs. You don't want to risk dividing a locker room because teammates have differing opinions on who should be in the QB leadership role. The salaries attached can also influence things. Nothing good comes from keeping Kyler on the roster to battle for a spot when he makes 45 mil. You just have to move on even if it means cutting him.

Linebackers engage in a position battle. With QBs, you have a quarterback controversy.

In the NFL, there is no competing to start at QB, you either have a starter, or you do not. Right now, we do not.

You must not have been around when he got benched.
That's more than likely why he's not talking. Doesn't mean he's a cancer in the clubhouse. If I'm paying a guy $50m I'd rather he wore my uniform and wasn't sitting on his couch.
