The Malik Willis hype is absurd.

Dude has 2 games in the league with more than 20 pass attempts.

He has 3 starts in GB in 2 years where he had 14 attempts, 19 attempts and 21 attempts.

Jordan Love averages over 30 passes a game, so MLF was game planning for Willis to pass as little as possible.

There's some signs of promise there, but 3rd best option available? Nah.
Think Arron Rodgers sitting behind Favre. Think Love sitting behind Rodgers. And now think about Willis sitting behind Love.
I’m not saying he’s the guy, but if ML with input from his brother and the needed intel thinks it’s the guy he wants, then so be it.
Personally I think Brissett is a our starting qb with whoever might fall to us in the second round.

Or Klayton could have heard Kyler say it multiple times and shared that with Schott, who relayed it to the media.

I don’t know why you’re completely mischaracterizing the quote right now.

Which is funny because what he actually said was this, which is quite different from "Kyler hates running".

“Well, it’s funny when you talk to Klayton, he said the thing about Kyler is that Kyler never really wanted to run. He was really good. But he said he’d go on to start the games, he would be like, ‘Man, I really don’t wanna! I’m not feeling like running this week,'”

I heard the quote as “he’d go into certain games…”

Hackett pretty much ends any shot Kyler stays here. He had no idea how to gameplan around Russell Wilson.
In addition, MLF was talking to Dani Sureck. I'm paraphrasing but he said something like QB needs to be tough and stay in the pocket. That is pretty much a 180 of what Kyler is. I'm not saying he isn't tough but his actions indicate he doesn't want to be hit, takes off running at first pressure, slides before first down, etc..

Up until this interview, I was thinking there was a chance Kyler was coming back because I couldn't see Bidwill eating any additional cash to release him or in a trade. I also didn't see anyone giving us a 2nd or 3rd for him as I said over a month ago, we'd be lucky to get a 4th. With Hackett not being able to game plan with Wilson, Hackett wouldn't enjoy having Kyler nor would MLF. I'm pretty sure Kyler's gone!

He's a flincher. He's not going to knowingly take a hit in the pocket standing still. He'd rather risk being crushed trying to scramble. He's had plays he probably took a bigger hit running around instead of just standing still trying to deliver a strike.

He better hope a team with a really good Oline wants him. Havent kept up with the Vikings Oline these days.

I'm listening to the interview now. At the 2:27 mark:
Surek: "What qualities in a QB best fit your scheme?"
LaFleur: "Yeah, guys that can process and rip through progressions. But more importantly than that, just toughness, to be able to sit back there - not everyone's gonna throw the same - you want what we call 'natural thowers'. What does that mean? Does it look right, right? Does it come out on time, ripping through the progressions like I said, but ultimately, if they play in the pocket they've gotta be tough. And the guys you just talked about, Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford - two of the best really to ever do it - Matthew's year this year I would hope will conclude with an MVP here in the next few days. But, there's different qualities but if you're not tough and you can't sit back in the pocket, it's hard to play."
Sounds like the antithesis of Murray!

No way man. That Cardinals aren't that stupid.

We wouldn't cut off our nose just to spite our face.
If no one wants to trade him then, what? We keep an unhappy, unproductive player on the bench for a gazillion dollars? Or is this just further fantasy that he can stay and start here for the 17th season?
