This is a LaFleur hire based on a recommendation from his brother.

Hackett was instrumental in easing Matt into his role as H-C in Green Bay.

Are you saying that, a few days into his tenure, Mike is inept?
We will see if he keeps Ralis as his DC before I say that.

Hackett is underwhelming on every level for me.

Again, one of the main concerns is that MLF can over come Bidwill, M. and his inability to build a winning culture and team. Hackett doesn’t exactly bring confidence in knowing how to win either.

And what you base your opinion on, and what The Flower does, are two very different things.

Sorry! I think Mike has a better idea of what he needs.

Hackett wasn't with Matt in his rookie HC year, he was with the Jags. He came in his 2nd year. Philbin for his rookie OC.

But I agree he's there because he's experienced and Mike knows him. He's more like an assistant than an OC.

How many OC’s?
Considering the track record of Cards Coaches and their OCs I could have a monkey throw darts with names on it and do a better job.

Why do people always lift these people to pedestals like this stuff is brain surgery.

They coach fricking football and many of these dudes weren’t even players they were stats nerds.

Isn't this a KM thread?

MLF has already indicated his offense is based on a tough QB who stays in the pocket so KM is out. At this point, we have to hope all we can do is get some hype for the Jets to come in and want to make a splash for their fans. But, as the days go on, I'm thinking it's going to be a straight release because if the Jets don't want him, nobody will.

The Falcons and the Vikings really need a QB - Murray would fit both.

There is no way you cut K1 - would be such a Cardinals thing to do.

Sorry I don't work for silver spoon goofballs like Bidwill, M..

I will say the standards seem pretty low for OC jobs in the NFL.

Hackett and Petzing getting jobs shows that everyone fails upward.

That's great news if more than one team is looking. I've been a big Murray fan since Oklahoma. The guy is electric but unpredictable. Worst case he doesn't play due to injury but when he does play, he's at least a top 15 QB. I've tired on his antics though and said a month+ ago that we'd only get a 4th and wasn't for it. I hope I am wrong. If MLF feels we should keep him, I'll suport the decision to see how it shakes out. However, if we can get a day 2 pick, I may sign up for it.

Falcons are an interesting option.
Pros - He knows the system.
Cons - He's a terrible fit in that system.

However, could Stefanski get him playing 2024 ball? It wouldn't shock me. Not winning the division with that (Although Panthers won it with 8 wins), but works as a bridge QB.

Sadly, even when healthy, he has barely shown glimpses of being a top 15 QB.

2025: ranked 25th in passer rating among qualifiers (Brissett was 16th), 28th in QBR (Brissett was 33rd).
2024 (his big "comeback year"): 17th / 9th. Arguably top 15.
2023 (initial comeback from injury and in a new system): 19th / 22nd.
2022 (following up his best season, healthy until he tore his ACL): 23rd / 19th.
2021 (his best and last truly good season - but really only for his first 9 games): 8th / 7th.
... passer rating for his first 9 games: 112.2; for the last 5: 85.6. For the playoff game: 40.9.
2020 (on the rise!): 18th / 14th.
2019 (promising rookie debut!): 21st / 15th.

Don’t go out on a limb. The Cardinals could have sign Jesus and his entire staff of apostles for the coaching staff and the odds would still be in your favor to be right.
Ok, again I get analogy, but I don't see Jesus as the tough-minded coach an NFL team is looking for....UNLESS, there's some Godlike powers available to be used, and the cardinals could use it...LOL

Well, Jesus is reputed to be a miracle worker able to raise the dead...
