There's nobody already gone who you would want or who would come here. Other than Carmichael every other OC is calling plays, so why would they have come here to not call plays?

We haven't missed out on anyone for OC. DC is probably a different story but still tonnes of options.
OK

Another thing to remember is that Hackett is well connected to help put together the rest of the offensive staff. I'm sure Mike will have a major say in that but it's hard to fill every position from your own rolodex.

I like the hire a lot. I am not sure what people think he is going to do? Seems like he is being judged because of his playcalling and head coach-duties, and neither of those things will he be doing with the Cards. He is basically a glorified analyst, but he has a lot of experience that can help LaFleur tremendously.

Also, either Ossenfort had already decided on Hackett, or he must have been LaFleur’s first choice.

Justin Outten gonna be OL or Tight Ends no doubt.

Was with Hackett at Packers and Denver. Now in Seattle.

One the Mannings won't let him come here.

Two, why the hell would the Cards want a guy who can't play QB?
1. Idk...it would suck if the team was terrible, but we do have skill players so could temp the Mannings.
2. Again its dependent on if Arch lives up to the hype/potential. A lot of people stopped following him after a few terrible games, but he really improved to end the year. Joe Burrow wasnt a great prospect going off his early JR tape.

My initial reaction was negative, but after more reflection I think it is an OK hire. Collaboration was one of MLF's positives when he talked about his time with Sean McVay. That and the obvious input from his brother probably led him to pick Hackett. As others have mentioned part of his job will be mentoring some young on the come offensive assistants that will be hired.

Obviously he had to move quickly to snatch him away from Miami. Nice that 'we' won one of these situations.

With the Cards luck they'd end up with Rex Manning.

EPA/play is a good way of measuring an OC over a large period of time. Extremely bad everywhere outside of Green Bay. Very glad he isnt calling plays.
