Yes that was dumb. But if you KNEW you were going for it on 4th then the run the ball on both downs.

Yep the 3rd down throw into double coverage was a bad decision by JB but the call itself was bad it seemed like that was the play open or not.

And again I said it last night, Bam had some good runs yesterday and the TD catch was a really nice play by him but that 4th down play he IMO did a terrible job. He didn't really follow the blocking. We ran a damn near identical play a bit later with Carter the little pitch to the left with guys pulling and Carter did what Bam didn't and set up the blocking, followed it and got yards.

I don't know how you can claim that one of SMB and STV were not going to be starters while also highlighting how bad Melton has been and how unavailable Will Johnson has been. I can agree that GWill, Will J, and one of SMB/STV were going to start but do you really think Melton was going to start over both of them?

No one gets a pass, but one of the issues on defense has been the revolving door of available players. That and the poor ILB play.

I don’t think Melton has been that bad. We all talked in the preseason about how we’re gonna get all these talented corners on the field. SMB was hurt pre-draft; plenty of time to deal with him. Everyone hoped/expected Starling would be sidelined by some combination of Melton/Williams/Johnson.

I get injuries being an excuse for the offense. Conner was such a major piece of how we wanted to do things. Then Tip and Benson started chipping away at some structural things.

Mack Wilson is the biggest injury on the defense and he’s such a replaceable player.

I went to lunch, 98.7 was on. Wolf was on making excuses for everyone from Bidwill on down. Praising Monti as a great GM. Praising Bidwill as a great owner that wants to win. Praising JG.

Both the announcing crew during the game and Wolfley cast blame on McBride for not holding his block; and in their post game interviews, the Bucs said they knew what play was coming based on the formation, and had an extra man sprinting to meet Knight as soon as the ball was snapped.

Maybe he could've stretched the play around the edge, but even so, there was a lot of blame to go around besides Knight's.

The playcall was worse than the decision to go for it. I can't believe they didn't try to QB sneak it on either 3rd or 4th.

The argument against the sneak is Vita Vea.

Ok. I assumed STV was going to start and that Melton and Will J were essentially battling for the 3rd spot. So just a different take on the same situation.

Again, not an excuse but the constant juggling to which CBs are working together really has been chaotic. Will J is out. Then Will J back but G Will is out. It's Clark playing. then Burke is playing. Then Burke and Clark are playing together. Then Will J is back. Will J is injured again. DTD is the 3rd S. then he is out. Then Melton is out. More than the impact of any one player out, the lack of any stretch of cohesiveness has been hurtful.

Also, Mack Wilson may be replaceable on most rosters but he certainly is not on this roster. I really would love to know the number that made White too expensive. Our highest paid ILBs are like 39th and 40th highest paid in the NFL. You get what you pay for and Monti spent the bare minimum and is getting that level of production.

Agreed. I watched the condensed version so the commentary is cutoff and there's no replay it just seemed to me that Knight basically ran into the guy #90, Logan Hall? It's one of those plays where the RB either has to "get small" or do what Conner would do and just blast through. It seemed to me like Bam thought he was going to just run through and then realized too late that Hall had closed the gap.

It wasn't perfectly blocked for sure. The play where Carter ran it was probably blocked better but he also IMO did a better job of getting small, which is of course easier given his size.

FYI the PHNX sports guys are on my youtube right now saying the Bucs knew our playcalls and that so did SF and Seattle. They're calling for us to hire Saleh as the new coach.

I don't even know their names but one of the 2 said that he has it on good sources that Kyler and Petzing had a "disagreement" and that's the reason they moved on from Kyler. Said Gannon loves Kyler was fully intending to bring him back but after whatever happened, that was it for Kyler.

No surprises there. Wolf and co are mouth pieces for the team. Its more noticeable when they dish out criticism. These are signals that despite everything they are going to run it back for another year (whether we like it or not).

I assume he meant this happened before the Dallas game. Remember the there's a role for Kyler in the game statement and then next day Kyler was out and went on IR? I think he's claiming there was an issue between Kyler and Petzing and Gannon went from backing Kyler as the starter when he came back to Kyler on IR and done.

FYI the PHNX sports guys are on my youtube right now saying the Bucs knew our playcalls and that so did SF and Seattle.

In a perverse way, it's pretty impressive that the Cardinals have been able to keep games close when the opponents know what plays are coming.

On further thought, this would go a long way toward explaining why the first games vs. San Francisco and Seattle were very close, while the second games were blowout losses.

This staff lacks in making adjustments week to week and at halftime

I keep going back to this offseason. Instead of adapting, modifying, getting better, we chose to stand pat with our offense and get more conservative with the running game and passing game. It cost us hard. We did so little to innovate, we still ran plays even when we knew the defense knew what was coming. (See Titans 3rd and short disaster of a call, this last game, and more...)

If they keep this coaching staff intact it's malpractice.
