I'm excited but apprehensive about this one. Stargate is one of my all time favorites. I can't tell you how many times I've rewatched all 3 series, especially SG-1. It's been a bit of a comfort show for me. So I love that we're getting more Stargate but I really hope Amazon doesn't screw it up like they have every other franchise. The thing that's giving me some hope is that they have some of the original guys behind it and that's it's not a reboot. Hopefully we can get some cameos from Jack, Daniel, Carter, and Teal'c.

I would have been fine with a full reboot.
But just adding MORE??
Hayell yeah!!

Maybe the Asgard have finally gone fully extinct and earth has assumed their tech...then they fully unlocked the ancients tech on Atlantis...and with the combined tech of the two most advanced races in the Universe...earth becomes galactically relevant.

The original motion picture was the very first non animated movie my oldest boy sat all the way through...we saw it at the theater together....he was about 3,...and completely enthralled...even if the movie wasnt fantastic I would have loved it simply for the joy and wonder it gave to my son.

....now we get more...and my grandson is just about the same age his dad was when I introduced him to Stargate

yeah. I am excited.

The Asgard are extinct and gave the SGC all of the knowledge in S10. We fully have our foot in the door now of being the 5th race. Maybe we'll finally get to be the Furlings. :)

I'm hoping that we get some sort of tie in with SGU and find out what happened to everyone on Destiny. That cast is long gone but they could do some sort of update on it.

Or go dark, bring back just Eli. The stasis chambers failed and killed everyone else. He's been flying around the universe solo for the last 15 years.

...hmmm, or even the Nogs...those dudes were pretty epic as well....I wasnt certain about the Asgard...thought there may be one or two still floating around out there..
there was one working on Prometheus as like a navigator or something wasnt there?

SGU could be an interesting tie in...I liked the show,...but the end was less than satisfactory

There had been a couple of them on the BC-304s helping to integrate the hyperdrive tech but they all perished. Since they couldn't solve genetic degradation from their centuries of cloning they decided to commit mass suicide together to prevent themselves falling to the Ori. They blew up their home planet as the Ori attacked it and took out number of the Ori motherships. I guess they could try to play some game where one or two of them were way off somewhere and didn't make it back before the Ori got there, but they tried to make it pretty definitive when it happened. Thor, Heimdall, Loki, etc. were all there for it.

I liked SGU too but they screwed up in the first season. Too much who's sleeping with who and pointless side stories on Earth. It derailed the show from a lot of the fanbase. They corrected that in S2 and it was much stronger. Felt like it was finally catching its stride when it got canceled.

I can all ready hear the nerd calls for this summery ;)

Fortunately these guys had nothing to do with Stargate Origins. It was a different creative team that MGM brought in to try to make something for a really stupid idea that the execs came up with, Stargate Command. It was a streaming service for just Stargate and they were trying to force content for it. It was a really bad idea from the start.
