We all know QB is what we need the most, but where we are right now in the draft position, we are unlikely to draft one that high with the teams in front of us also needing one while having a lot more draft ammo than us.

There’s no problem discussing other positions to look at in the mean time.

I'm advocating for moving up to get our guy, which should be doable if we're picking top 10. Without a QB, the team is going nowhere. But it may be true that our guy isn't available and we can't trade up. In that case, sure, a RT is an option. And it's always cool to discuss all the options.

So you would rather spend a very high pick on a potential QBOTF and have him running for his life his entire career, with only a Quality TE to throw the ball to, and not much else on offense to speak of. That doesn't make sense. Sounds like you subscribe to the Cleveland Browns school of team building. Keep drafting a QBOTF early in the 1st round and wonder why he fails when he has no support around him.

I strongly advocated to move up for Sam Darnold some years back...I used to be against it.
But the odds say that two or three average first round picks won't affect your team as much as having the QB position locked down with the right guy.

We go get our QB and let the chips fall as they may....

Our wide receivers have seemed a lot better since Brissett took over as quarterback. The offense line has been rather bad though.

Sure Mendoza is the "Hot" name for this QB class right now but if you compare him to QBs from other draft classes he's not so hot. This is the wrong year to be moving up for a QB in the top of the 1st round!

Ok madbeardisease. Bears are in 1st place with the young QB and young LT and RT. And have won a Super Bowl ever.

Bears are bum slayers and no one will take them seriously until the actually beat a good team. They played a good team once this year--- Detroit --- and lost by a million.

well yeah... but thats true basically for every player every year.
IMO, its really just an indicator of maturity in most cases.
Not so much, "there is no way we draft this guy top 10"...as it is, "No matter where we draft the kid he will need a year to develop before we throw him into the fire"
But if the guy has top 5 talent...he is still a top 5 pick.....but whoever picks him just has to be prepared to develop that talent a bit before using him.

But with Mendoza...he transferred from CAL over to the Hoosiers,...and he got better...whole new system...and he played some really solid teams with Indiana...maybe moreso than he did with CAL.... CAL isnt a member of the 1980's PAC 10 anymore...what I will be looking for in the playoffs is to see how he interacts with his team as the pressure grows....and to see if I can notice him making adjustments at the line as the game progresses...
But it would take a pretty catastrophic outing to say he isnt a top 10 pick

Paris Johnson was originally drafted #7 to play RT. If there is a dude in PJJ's area code in next year's draft, I hope the Cardinals draft him even in the top 10 picks.

The hosts both expect both Gannon and Ossenfort to be back, or at least Ossenfort; though they wouldn't be super surprised if that's not the case.

They recognize that the biggest question is what the Cardinals will do at QB, where there won't be a lot of options at #9, where they are currently slotted. Most likely a solution to the QB problem won't be found in this year's draft.

They felt "solid" (!) about the roster overall.

They raised the possibility of drafting an explosive RB, Jeremiah Love, to help whoever the QB is.

But they both agreed that Spencer Fano would be a perfect fit at RT, and that a pick late in the top 10 would be appropriate for taking a RT.

They strongly agreed that the roster is in a MUCH better place than when Ossenfort and Gannon took over. "The bones of a good team are here. They're 11th in Defensive DVOA. They've got talent on both sides of the ball. You'd like to see Marvin Harrison pick it up a bit. The receiver corps could be deeper." They raved about Walter Nolen. There are reasons for optimism that's muddied up by the QB situation.

The Indiana offense is not very complex so you really need to see him make as many big throws vs top competition as you can. As many crunch time drives as possible.
