I think Gannon was right to rip into him. It wasn’t a physical failure. It wasn’t a mental error. It wasn’t an error. It wasn’t a mistake. He dropped the ball that close to the endzone KNOWINGLY. It’s showboating and carelessness that impacted the entire team. He should be dressed down.

But so should Gannon and his staff. They blew an earlier game in similar fashion. They doubled down on it afterwards saying they’d do it again. Then they went out and did it again. That’s not a mistake or an error either. It’s hubris. It’s arrogance. It’s showing a stubbornness that makes them bad coaches. They should get yelled at as well. And I’d like it public.

That sort of public showing leaves a mark on a team. No one wants to end up on the receiving end of that dress down. Particularly not publicly. If any players shrink away from this they aren’t the tough minded guys I want in my team.

Looks like Coach Kendall Roy got into his nose candy, watching more of his best laid plans unravel before his very glossed over eyes.

This explosion on the sideline is almost as embarrassing as his decision to run-run-run-punt on the last offensive possession to all but forfeit the end of the game.
IMO, this episode and this game is the beginning of his end with the team.

He is more than welcome to prove me wrong but I think he is toast with his players and no head coach survives that.

“I’m not feelin’ runnin’ this week” . . . I know that’s a guy paraphrasing a guy paraphrasing Kyler . . . but still . . . either Schottenheimer just don’t give a F, or almost all the bad things this board collectively thinks about Kyler are most likely true.

The playing not to lose mentality is absolutely on him. He doesn’t trust anyone to make plays—maybe he believes they can’t—so no one gets the chance.

I know JG has basically fellated Kyler thru the media, but when he lets Drew take the ball out of his hands in crunch time, that may be sending a totally different message about his true level of trust he has in his QBoF

Also the news must be out around the NFL on Kyler if a head coach is dropping this at random.

Yeah, considering his best threat by far these days is his legs, the fact that he's not "feeling" it certain days? Whether it be personal feelings or self preservation, we're screwed either way.

Sure but DeMercado got handed a major role upgrade due to injury and responded with that? That's 2 games this year he has blown TD's that contributed to losses. one was a physical error a drop, one was a mental error.

Is it emotional yes but they have to change the culture or else they won't get this team over the hump.
over the hump? We can’t get to the base of the hill.
Doesn’t matter. The TV revenue keeps rolling in.

Gannon. Just now .. We gotta coach better. At what point does Michael cut ties with him based on the need for better coaching?

He is incompetent and he says the same thing every week, but it’s clear now he doesn’t really mean it. It’s obvious they need to be more aggressive and his unwillingness to do so yet again yesterday is proof of his arrogance and incompetence. It’s one thing to be incompetent, it’s a whole other thing to be arrogant and incompetent. I’m out on JG. Ready for a new hire.

Captain wants to go down with his sinking ship. So be it. He'll never get a HC gig again.

Kyler did say in the off season that there were certain weeks last year where his surgically repaired ACL did not feel right and he tried to avoid running.

There is a lot of stuff to criticize Kyler for, but for this?

Agreed. “Coaching better” could mean hiring another HC.

It’s time for him to go. His press conferences keep getting worse and worse. So they don’t like the 3rd & 8 call yet run it anyway, even though there’s 3 timeouts left to burn?

So Demarcado will not be punished or benched despite a horrific game-costing play?

How is he getting away with this? This feels infuriating that zero accountability is being taken.
