When a couple of teammates are talking to him? Nope. He blew it.
Paris was the one with his hand on cado's shoulder consoling him - after the game paris was more worried about why the offensive playcall sucked - that's what he was concerned with

That’s such a bad look. What does screaming at this kid accomplish?
If that was only his 1st offense, I'd be inclined to agree...however it's not the 1st time and also, that's a look at me moment and you can't make gaffes like that when you're showing off.

Teammates are there to pick you up - the coach is there to set the tone.

JG takes the blame in public - we need to coach better etc. That is leadership but none of us want to hear that.
Sometimes - you need your ass handed to you. BA did it and I don't remember anyone complaining about it.

That message wasn't just for Demarcado.

His head is down and he’s getting a pep talk from two teammates. Do you think he’s feeling good about himself?

This isn’t leadership. It’s an emotional reaction and I bet Gannon feels awful about it today.

It should have been done privately. Dermercado already knew he messed up.

Looks like Coach Kendall Roy got into his nose candy, watching more of his best laid plans unravel before his very glossed over eyes.

This explosion on the sideline is almost as embarrassing as his decision to run-run-run-punt on the last offensive possession to all but forfeit the end of the game.

My opinion goes together with cutting the kid: It shows the rest of the team that this idiotic ish is unacceptable.

As I often say in my self-advocacy group, there are times and places for aggression, and I often use football as an example. He shouldn't have struck the kid--that was bang out of order--but dressing him down like that? Nothing wrong with that from a football sense. It's not something he always does; yelling isn't his immediate go-to all the time. Letting loose at the appropriate moments is quite important.
So why was this an appropriate moment?

JG had to realize during yesterday’s 4th quarter that his entire career coaching trajectory was spiraling out of control. Perhaps this explains his angry outburst. I don’t believe players like DeMercado realize how damaging their actions can be, on so many levels, when they cost their team a near-certain win with selfish play as he did. Could the Cards still have won the game after his inexcusable action? Of course. Can they still salvage their season? Of course. But they didn’t and they won’t. And the ramifications will affect an entire organization. Selfishly, as a long-suffering fan, I’m hopeful that yesterday was THE moment that changes things. Not likely, but hope springs eternal.

I just can’t believe how weak this staff has gotten.

The defensive coordinator has talent now and won’t blitz. You let a rookie qb stand in the pocket all day hoping he would make mistakes.

The offensive coordinator doesn’t dictate anything. Calling that 3rd run on 3rd and 8 has to be the end of him.

The QB is just as gutless giving up the ball instead of taking a sack. Not taking leadership of the team and winning the game. Audible to a pass!

It’s all on JG. He can’t remain. None of them can now barring us making the playoffs. We have been out coached in every game this year.

He's showing his ass in public

That should have been done behind closed doors

I'm telling you, JG is in danger of losing this team

The vets can see it
Have we become that soft. If JG didn’t rip into someone in real time I would be even more disappointed. I’ve had that happen to me playing pop warner for gods sake. This entire team needs to grow a sac asap.
