Both. Delusional fans are saying the Jets would trade their likely top 12 pick for Kyler. That’s crazy town.

Maybe you could package Kyler and a third for a low first round pick if he stays healthy and plays mid this year.
This certainly is not the first time I’ve been accused of being delusional. The same could be said for Colin Cowherd. Nonetheless it’s a wait and see speculation.

Yes Coward is an always-wrong idiot. His talent is being able to yak to himself for four hours a day. How does that translate to anything?

Not pick a qb in the 1st why would I doubt him when he never has. Unless you believe all his 1st rd picks are bust?
I think his first round picks have basically been Kyler Murray level—mid and disappointing but not catastrophic. But I see no special aptitude for drafting where I would argue he deserves a shot.

He’s 14-24 over two-plus seasons and had drafted zero pro bowlers. His previous role developed no successor to Ryan Tannehill.

My feeling is if Monti and JG pitched themselves as guys who could win with/around Kyler Murray, they don’t get another shot. You have to redesign your franchise plan around acquiring and developing a QB you can win with.

I would contend that Kyler is far more catastrophic than an outright bust #1 first-round pick. How long did San Fran get held back by Trey Lance? It was clear quickly he was not the answer. How long have we suffered with Kyler? Much, much longer. The tease of hopium has been catastrophic for us.

They would have been so screwed if they didn't find a gold ticket under a rock.

We need to also look under rocks, for bugs that is. That's the best we can do.

I dunno. The joy is in the competition, and the ride had been fun and interesting until basically last season.

Lance basically got injured two games or fewer into his first two NFL seasons and then got jumped by Purdy.

Kyler lost the will to live after the Green Bay game and it’s taken 2.5 seasons for everyone to come to grips with it. It’s like what happened to Leinart after the Bears game. Sad, but fun ride.

I just wish this wasn't shaping up as a down year for college QBs.

Meh...it's fine. I don't think the Cardinals will pick at the top of the draft anyways. If they did invest a mid 1st round pick in a Bo Nix/Jaxson Dart equivalent isn't the worst thing.
Indeed. I personally am so down on these guys at the moment I don't think any of them are even as good as those two. But, that can change. And, besides, I can also be wrong.

They succeeded because they persisted. Never sat on their laurels.
Traded the farm to get Trey Lance...then traded a cow to get another shot at a QB.
We should be doing the same thing...and now that we have a base level of talent, don't just throw a 6th at a QB once in a while...but spend a third, or even a second.
It raises the talent level in the room, puts some pressure on your starter to stay at his best, and it will occasionally get us some good trade fodder.
Every facet of that is more valuable than a #4 WR or backup OG

Yeah. If I am looking to draft a college QB I think I am starting with game started and moving from there. A lot of recent "busts" or top guys who have underperformed had limited starts in college.

Starts
Resiliency/Makeup
Physical Skills

is probably a rough order of what I am looking at.

When this season ends below .500 again, who do you think is pinning their career and job on another year of Kyler? Monti isn't going to blame his drafts and FAs, and Gannon isn't going to blame the defense. Regardless of % of blame, it seems weird to bring in ANOTHER OC to work with Kyler in a make or break year. Especially when the QB. WR and OL coaches will be scrutinized after the season as well.
My thought on this is Bidwill. He isn’t going to pay anybody not to play.
I can see us going through snotgee off seasons using injuries and blah blah blah and we have to add to the rosters.
If anybody is going I believe it would be Petzing whether Gannon is happy about it or not.

in a league where offense puts butts in seats a defensive head coach has to pick an OC that can put up points. If this were 1953 The Petzing would be great.

on mike...dude paid keim not to GM..and he paid kliff to not HC...for 4 years??
dont see why everyone is so convinced he wont pay kyler to be daks backup in dallas
