I think Darius Robinson has zero clue how to rush the passer outside of a bull rush. He doesn't seem to use angles nor does he use his hands much to disengage. He gets clamped and then can't do much. Another player who I don't feel is showing improvement.
Yep! No burst & can’t get off blocks is a deadly combination & way to be soon employed at Whataburger lol.
The coaching isn’t helping either when they rely too much on Dlineman winning 1 on 1 battles & gee stunts

1 - MHJ dropped 1 perfectly thrown pass. H as also targeted 4 times in an entire game. I'm not sure what he is supposed to do with that volume.

2 - DP sucks. The offensive coaching seems to suck outside of maybe the TE room. The play calling sucks. I don't believe there is one answer to improving the offense on the coaching staff at this time. It was a small group to begin with and the best part seems to have taken a promotion elsewhere.
Yep. Kyler not being good enough and Petz not coaching well enough are not mutually exclusive. I do think both are hindered by the IOL play.

For the running game, the blame goes squarely on Monti. I pounded the drum that he was weakening the IOL and he has indeed done so. Adams and Brown are two headaches for Fro. A center can only compensate for one at a time. Our IOL isn't good enough to replicate last season's run game.
I think Adams has played fine! I think too make the Oline better, Beech will have be be played at RT & Hernandez inserted at OG & Brown to the bench

The running issue is scheme IMO as the personnel is mostly the same. They are just not identifying and adjusting to what other teams are doing in comparison to what they did with Adams as run game coordinator.

I am not out on DRob by any means but when you choose to draft a raw player, you have to commit to developing him.

I think Kyler is who he is. His first two games show a similar player to last year. The stagnation of the offense is more on Petzing at this point IMO (outside of Kyler being ok just running the garbage Petzing calls). We will see vs better defenses.

7 total targets to WRs in the entire game is unacceptable. This offense is worse than last years. Thankfully the defense has been better. A general theme for the Monti/Gannon Cardinals has been a lack of growth and improvement. It's not everywhere of course, but in general, young players don't seem to be getting better, and the schemes are not getting more creative. It's early of course and this is a bit dramatic but I don't know that it is wrong.
8% to Marv is unacceptable.
well, 8% of his snaps as targets...dude should have had at LEAST 6 more targets in that game.
Not just to make the defense respect him out there but to keep the young man engaged in the game...being disengaged causes complacency which results in bonehead plays later due to lack of focus.
The Petzing is a ******. The quarterback is a coward.
Marrv should demand a trade so he has some hope of having a career worthy of his family name.

If they have to give Harrison X number of targets in order to keep him engaged in the game then Harrison is a problem. His job is to be engaged while he"s on the field and if he's taking plays off or becomes disinterested when he's not in the play, then he owes his teammates an apology for being lazy on the job.

In theory you are absolutely correct. But peoples brains work the way they work

This is a dumb take. Every sport takes rhythm and engagement to perform and contribute. Also, most teams benefit from getting their best players involved. The point is it is the Cardinals best interest to get their best players engaged early and often so they can perform their best. RB say that they like to get carries early because it helps them get a feel. QBs say they like to get hit or get some completions under their belt early. This is not a new or unique concept.

Just another raw 23 year old who played 49 games in the SEC
Darius played his first 3 seasons at Mizzou inside -- and he was unremarkable. Probably a mid round draft pick.

In his final season, he moved outside -- think 4-3 DE kinda role and looked good enough to be considered a 1st round pick.

The Cardinals are playing him inside.

wild benson had that many snaps and only 3 rushes - im not tripping - it shows his game is evolving beyond carries

he only really got 1 carry in a running situation too, 2 of those carries were long yardage passing downs where we ran to get us in better FG range.

Obviously not based on statistics. Ultimately, if Stills continues to total more snaps that he is it is an indicator he is underperforming. Robinson will continue to get a large % of snaps due to the ages of Dalvin and CC.

The other side of it is he certainly won't get better if he isn't playing so the Cardinals do have to keep putting him on the field.

The weird thing is so far it looks like he was a horrible pick but stills was a real value pick the year before. I mean it's early but Stills is clearly the better player right now

Maybe this is lazy analysis on my part, but when a rookie suffers a major injury to start their career, I don’t have a lot of hope of them having a solid NFL future. We saw that with Cooper and now Robinson. Has me worried about Nolan
Like Willis McGahee? Rushed for almost 9k yards after almost losing his leg.
