I don't believe anyone really cares, but keeping Monti and Gannon around for another season is going to be a really tough sell to what is left of the fanbase. Here are snap counts and then I will offer up some thoughts.

On offense.

1 - PJJ went down with a knee injury. Fryar came in and gobbled up the rest of the LT snaps. I can't tell you how well he did. I had stopped watching at that point.

2 - Jon Gaines and Adams played 100% of snaps. They highlighted Monti's inability to draft useable IOL players. More wasted picks.

3 - Basically, a lot of practice squad players played a lot of snaps and looked like practice squad players.

On defense.

1 - ADG was benched. For Owen Pappoe. Kinda wild that ADG's contract is for more per year than Mack Wilson's. Nice signing Monti.

2 - Cody Simon and Will Johnson played 100% of snaps. Neither was good. The shine is coming off Will a little. Either hurt or disengaged is not a great look for a rookie. Simon isn't good and it messes up a lot of the defense.

3 - Dante Stills paced the defensive front with 69% (nice) of snaps. That's generally not a good thing. He has been a nice player, but that is more in relation to his draft status vs his actual level of play.

4 - The team gave up quick and went into asset protection mode. CC and Sweat played sub 40% snaps. All the Ojulari and Mustipher.

Gannon says they will come out the other side because they have the right guys in the locker room. The snap counts beg to differ. In fairness, a lot of these guys are playing for future spots in the league so having a bunch of fringe roster/PS guys might be the right guys for a team whose best hope is not getting blown out. A lot of these guys can't afford to quit on the team as this might be their only/last shot.

Take McBride out, and the names on that offense could rival any bad 90s era Cards team.

I mean, imagine telling someone at the beginning of the season that in week 14 the following players would be getting significant snaps: Brissett, Jon Gaines, Andre Baccellia, Michael Carter, Bam Knight, Josh Fryar, and Jalen Brooks, And that doesn't even include guys like Isaiah Adams, Kelvin Beachum, and Elijah Higgins - who were at least on the radar but shouldn't be getting meaningful snap numbers. Oh, and that there would be a Trent Sherfield sighting too!

That is a sorry list of names. Maybe two or three would get any playing time on a good team

It's easier to find guys who will get on the bus when their alternative is the unemployment line. Good players actually have options.
Yup. Max Melton and Will Johnson have guaranteed contracts for another two and three years. They’re both going to be here once Gannon is a memory.

When you see Sweats limited snaps it should tell you what management is trying to do. Training camp has started.
That is concerning

only a GM and HC who felt secure in their seats would knowingly limit Josh Sweat to 36% of snaps in the interest of getting BJ Ojulari reps

I’m starting to believe that when this “braintrust” discussed a three-year rebuild they didn’t mention which three years (on purpose).

Said it in the game thread too Will didn't look right yesterday he wasn't running well. Was definitely his worst game. hard to judge DB"s when the DL gets nowhere near the QB but he was quite bad yesterday. Still love his talent but sure hope he can stay healthy next year.
