I seen Jalen Hurts win a game throwing for 101 yards & 0 TDs yesterday.
Great! I've never seen Kyler do anything that would give him the benefit of the doubt over a proven QB like Hurts. Heck, we even have to sub poor little Kyler out to run QB sneaks.

The part about "Throwing it up for grabs"...he was trying to throw it away and his arm was very clearly hit changing the release of the ball. It was super obvious if you watched the game.
When you're falling backwards with defenders right on you, you're chucking it up for grabs. You maybe hope you're throwing it out of bounds, but there's clearly no guarantee. Just a bad mistake. It is what it is. We can call it that and move on.

If he did that then you'd all be in here screaming for him to throw it away(which he was trying to do). I don't absolve Kyler for any blame on that play, he was out of the pocket with plenty of time to throw it away before the defender closed in, and should have much earlier.
Can you see a difference between falling backwards with defenders in your face and being literally yards from the sideline with forward momentum and no hinderance to throwing the ball away? Or have you no idea of situational awareness?

Benefit of the doubt my butt. Unless you have a super team, no QB is winning a game with that statline.

Mahomes doesn’t even do QB sneaks. Save the “benefit of the doubt” mess for that, too. Who really cares about who does the QB sneaks as long as it’s converted.

Who cares? Are you arguing that Kyler is better because he threw for more yards and TDs in one game? Like, no one believes that, outside a very, very select few.

I just rewatched the play a couple of times, and usually he does just that in that instance. The defender was already right on top of him.

It was a bad decision that ruined a pretty good game for my hero.
As always, the voice of reason, my man. That's all we're saying. But no, no level of criticism is ever allowed of the golden boy.

Glad to have you posting here, @Crimson Warrior :)

I never said such a thing. You just quoted me with nonsense.

I gave Murray a B to B- for this game. He had some really good stretches.

Where I think I am landing on Kyler is this. My biggest issue with Kyler is that he tolerates this Petzing offense after complaining about the Kliff offense. I want him to be Peyton Manning in terms of running the offense from the LOS regardless of the OC and he doesn't seem to be that guy. He is ok with running the two condom offense that is being called which really irritates me.
I believe that giving him Kliff as a security blanket coming out of college was the biggest mistake in his development. There are aspects of his game that might always have meant that he would never be elite, but I'd be interested to see if his career would have had a different trajectory without Kliff.

What on earth are you even talking about? There was no forward momentum at all on that play, but there was a window when he got past the hash to just throw it into the stands and that's what he SHOULD have done. He was hoping something opened up I assume and it was a terrible decision allowing a guy who had a clear angle on him to close.

I agree with this. I'm not sure if they don't trust Kyler to do more at the line, if Kyler has no idea what to do at the line or Petz says run the play as called, you can adjust protection but not change the play. It's odd. I wish we knew. Even under Kliff I saw Kyler change the play at the line, not sure I have under Petz

I mean, anyone could with the super passiveness Rallis was calling yesterday, tbh. We’ve seen Kyler play like that plenty of times when the game “seemed” out of reach.
I don’t agree with this. Last season when we got up fast we almost always kept pressing our advantage. We had like two games we won but didn’t win by double digits that weren’t fourth quarter comebacks by us.

He doesn't tolerate it. It's built for him, which is why he likes it.
