These things are unrelated. The strategy of a coaching staff who is 12-22 should probably be questioned until proven otherwise.
dude that 12-22 harp needs some new strings man - they're as busted as your busted ass preseason is meaningless takes lol

When do we start judging Monti/Gannon on their results, do they get the Kyler 10 year plan?
I gave them a pass for the first year after tearing down the roster of bad team with cap issues and with the franchise QB out for half the season.

They basicly took over what Kellen Moore is taking over now in NO

But surely you wouldn't grade them solely on record during that first year, would you? We all saw what step one in the plan was.
Not at all. They just don't get a free pass for year one. The record after two seasons is abysmal, though. This year will for sure go a long way to defining this regime.

The quote, "You are what your record says you are," is a famous and frequently cited saying by legendary NFL coach Bill Parcells. It emphasizes that in a performance-based profession, your tangible results and outcomes define you, and that even positive qualities or past successes are less meaningful if they aren't reflected in your current results.

First year was a purposefull tank so anyone who gets upset about it just likes being angry imo.
Last stat I heard was that 25 of Montis 28 draft picks are still with the team. That's very impressive even though it includes players like K. Clark.

I can see that math was never your strength lol. Murray has played the equivalence of 5 years & MOJG has finished 2. I do understand you’re trying to be funny, but you might want to keep your day job before considering the jump into comedy.

You have an opinion you're stating as a fact. It isn't. The opposite opinion is that we didn't have to enter a radical tank. Which, you know, we didn't ;) That year was always going to stink, but the FO purposefully made us worse than necessary.

Zero biggie

But I was responding to whether 30 receptions were realistic. Not if it was dramatic.

Either way I think he will have 30-45 catchers and that will be a dramatic shift from his rookie output
That hit was pretty dramatic, or let’s say traumatic ! Boy quite the slobberknocker! Tone setter, tackler ender. You want to beat up a defense lead with him, and when he does get the ball , ooh baby he is a 18 wheeler with a full load of wet sand.

In your opinion. I'm not necessarily in favor of a tank season but if your starting QB will be out for half the season and the roster sucks then tank it is. I do support the sucky season and as you pounded the table nonstop for MHJ that probably wouldn't have happened without the tank. IMHO:)

“It’s amazing that the players I picked keep making the roster I decide on!”

Monti Ossenfort, 12-22 record as GM

I stated that by referencing Clark. You and I will always disagree on the tank season but IIRC you have KM ranked outside the top 15 QBS and in his 2nd year Monti's team went 8 and 9 so not horrible. This season will tell us a lot more than a overall record that includes a tank season.

Which is pretty damn good when you factor in that the 2023 roster was a designed total tear down & was maybe the least talented team I’ve seen since 1964. And the 2024 team was better talent wise, but still part of a rebuild & still had gaping deficiencies in multiple areas. We pretty much beat who we were supposed to and lost to teams that had superior talent. That in itself is the definition of average, which is what we were.

So why is it impressive?

The legit impressive draft picks are:
Garrett Williams, arguably a top 15 defensive back taken in the third round
Dante Stills, an above average rotational defensive tackle taken in the sixth round
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, an above-average rotational safety drafted in the fourth round

Everyone else is incomplete (DRob, Beej if you’re being super-generous, MHJ, Elijah Jones) or meets expectations (PJJ, Reiman, Isiah Adams, Melton).

If Reiman can play 70-80% of snaps, Adams isn’t a headache for us, and PJJ becomes a pro bowler, they could all move up.

Right. Opinions on either side of the topic, so no definable facts :)
