Not to mention...if we have strong positioning when the trade deadline approaches we have the cap flexibility to bring in any player that might be available if we choose.I think they did this because they want the flexibility for 2026. Even with carryover, the Cards have just $13.5 million in cap space going into next year. We don't have a ton of FAs to fret about (Jonah Williams and Jalen Thompson are likely gone to be replaced by 2024 draft picks), but Garrett Williams and Paris Johnson Jr. will be extension-eligible.
