LOL

On paper, we are worse, but then again, last summer on paper we were considered one of the best teams in the league.

The paper sucks.
No kidding. I just went through the most frustrating season in my 50 years of fandom. ANYTHING will be better. You can burn that paper.

Because HOF Point God’s are easy to come by, especially when you have zero resources to attain one.

A Booker led CP3-less team has consistently either been amongst the worst teams in the league or the most disappointing. Rebuilding around that kind of player, with zero assets to really improve the team is an exercise in futility.

The point God was very old when they got him. It's not like they got a 28 year old CP3. It's not easy to find another one now but it's not impossible. Holiday is out there, Smart is out there. Neither is as good as CP3 was, but they are good enough for what the Suns would need.

Chicago was rumored as a Beal destination. Maybe they would want Green. That's interesting. Giddey wouldn't be bad.
I have thought about Giddy, but was not sure how effective he would be here. Is Giddey for Green and even trade? I don't think so. But I am not in tune with the market for players these days. I would want more--maybe a pick.

OK. I am back. Just watch a little video of Giddey. Yeah. I would go for him if we could get him. Can we trade Green now though?

I took Mainstreet's comment as understatement/sarcasm.

Contracts make it weird. A straight trade? Probably favors Chicago. I can see a lotto protected pick being included in our favor in a more realistic deal.

I'm trying not to include more players. Chicago is a tough team to get a read on. They don't make good decisions, at all.

The Point God was very old but he was also still SECOND and THIRD TEAM ALL-NBA the first two years he played for us while getting MVP votes in year 1.

Holiday and Smart have NEVER gotten even ONE ALL-NBA team and Holiday is wearing down while Smart is pretty much nothing but a broken down shell of himself.

And neither of those guys are offensive maestros who could elevate entire offenses like CP3 was his entire career.

having read a myriad of his comments about how this team this could and should rebuild around Booker, I don't see it as understatement/sarcasm. He really believes building around Booker is a good plan and that all the Suns need to do is find a PG to compliment him.

Not really stuck in the Nash era. If you think this then add

Kevin Johnson
Jason Kidd
Chris Paul

The thing is the SUNS have never competed successfully in this league without a solid to great point guard for which the current team does not have on the roster.
Fine - many other teams have, and that is my point.

Well, he broke Caruso‘s arm with an insanely dirty play, and he had a wild ejection in his second year during the summer league where he got two flagrants in about 10 seconds. The second one was really, really stupid.

But that’s the thing, he’s never been hard-nosed. He’s just a guy who used to snap now and then and lose his head and do something idiotic.

He seems to have grown out of his psychotic tendencies. He was never a tough guy though.
It's weird he's Canadian. I guess hockey players from Canada are like that. Most average people I have met from Canada are actually a LOT less violent than Americans, in general.

yeah, but most other successful teams who don't have a PG, have a generational talent to build their team around, if not two.

we have none. thus the need for a PG who can run the team.

Grayson Allen is Canadian?

Think you're mixed up. We aren't talking about Dillon Brooks.

So you somehow think a point guard can overcome not having a generational talent? Who pre tell is this mythical point guard - and if he does exist how the hell could this team acquire him since we have almost no tradeable assets.

I'll tell you who the best point guard we can possibly get is - Devin Booker.

Jalen Green is a better player than Giddey, and thankfully I think Suns management knows that for once.

Mat Ishbia says the Suns waived and stretched Beal on the Gambo show so it appears the decision has already been made.

I think there's some weird base year compensation rules at play if Chicago were to sign and trade him.

Yeah, we'd probably have to take Patrick Williams in a deal to make salaries work so I'd definitely want a pick to eat that salary. He's making $80 million over the next 4 years and isn't worth it.
