Per 100 possessions we were TEN points better when Plumlee was on the court vs Richards, we actually outscored teams when he was in the game over the course of the season, while we Richards we got pulverized.

In terms of on/off splits, Richards was the worst player on the entire roster last year. He does none of the little things and he's not particularly good at anything.
If he was so good why did we guarentee Richard’s deal and let him walk? Why is he only getting the min with charlotte.

The nba does not agree with you that he is better, and I can’t believe anyone that watched the both last year would either.

I think it was because we had an option that Richard could not refuse.

He was objectively better.

And I don't think Plumlee is great, he was just the best of an extremely bad group of centers that played for us.

He's a 6'8" forward for those who don't know. Interesting acquisition. Hope he's more PJ Tucker than Sonny Weems.
That's the guy I was thinking of when I read this news, although I couldn't remember his name.

But yeah, my immediate reaction was that we are digging through the bargain bin again. In theory, I have no problem with that, but the PR does remind me an awful lot of Weems... and he sure was awful. Let's hope this guy is better.

We signed Weems to a multiyear deal so that was doomed from the start. This is better already since it's low risk. Maybe he provides a quality presence in the locker room also since he's been the highest of highs of the Euro-League but chose to return for a minimum deal on a play-in team.

Plumlee had the benefit of playing the full season with us. By the time we acquired Richards the team was done.

I am checking in every hour for news and updates.

Will the gauchos play on summer suns? It is not very NBA realistic, but they could build on their chemistry and try to dominate. At least hope we see plenty of Oso, Maluach, Fleming and Brea. I assume TyTy and CG12 are too old for summer league?

Id guess Gillespie is a no. He's earned a full NBA deal now. Can't blame him for not wanting to participate.

Dunn is questionable but Oso is a must.

I think the Suns should try to sign the elderly free agent forward Taj Gibson from the Hornets, to mentor their young players. No other reason. It's the same reason I might want Chris Paul--only mentoring.

a person like cp will want to play though

Throwing some mud off the wall, but would Lillard be interested in signing with the Suns for the minimum?

I know he is injured, but if he comes back later this season or next, he is a star level player.

I doubt the Suns would want to bother with that. They are already overloaded with guys who replicate what he would bring, and who knows when or if he would ever be healthy enough to contribute anyway.

Lillard is out for the year and at his age an Achilles is likely career ending. Players come back but never all the way.

Agreed. He'll be 36 before he could play a minute for us assuming he is out all next season. Signing former superstars on the back end of their career rarely work. CP3 was a rare exception.

You could talk me into unloading Beal for Lillard because that solved a problem. Adding Lillard to sit for a season doesn't solve anything. I'd rather invest in a younger player to develop.

If he wants to play for the min, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Don't see that happening though.

There are people on X saying the lakers should trade Lebron for Beal.

Why would Lebron rather be on the Suns than the Lakers? I know his options to be traded are limited, but does anyone think the Suns with Lebron has a better chance of competing than the Lakers?

If they do it's a small difference, not enough that I would think he would want to do it, unless Luka being the leader is bugging him.

He was waaay worse, especially worse than Plumlee. He doesn't defend, he doesn't set screens, we were far worse when he was on the court. Plumlee was our most effective big by a huge margin.
Your Plumlee support is beyond bizzare - it's in a ton of threads. Dude was terrible.

Are those people Suns fans or Lakers fans? Honestly, I think LeBron would rather play with Book than Luka. LeBron becomes the point forward playing with two scoring guards. Actually, now that I think about it, that kind of chemistry would be very interesting.

Yeah. I would do it. But the Lakers wont.

He was a huge disappointment early in the season but by midseason he was often our best big man. I don't know how it averages out but I wouldn't argue with someone that insisted Plumlee was our best big man overall - we were so weak down low that it's not much of an accomplishment.

Yeah, both he and Eubanks were pretty much worthless to me, but you're right, it's parsing the dregs of the league any way you cut it.
