I’m going to make this clear.

You guys cannot sit here & celebrate & say we massively upgraded personnel on defense, not losing much on offense, and still have us win 8 or 9 games even WITH another Kyler 2nd half collapse. The blame will go more than just Kyler.
I mean, we can. We won’t know anything until we see them play. If the defense holds the opposition to 14pts a game and Kyler shrivels with bad passes and turnovers and refusal to use his feet it can certainly be laid at his feet. Alternatively if the oline stinks or Conner gets hurt or our receivers don’t improve or the defense does suck, we can point the fingers elsewhere. But we most certainly can end up losing 9+ games and it lay primarily at Kyler’s feet. Saying that it can’t just isn’t reality.

I could buy this with the less-than-stellar defensive personnel in the past. Not this year. 10-12 wins should absolutely be on the table even if Kyler does everything you just said, which I expect him to do. If we still only earn 8 wins even with another Kyler collapse, there were lies about the rest of this current regime & the additions we made.

It certainly shouldn’t happen, but we’ve seen otherwise solid teams derailed by poor quarterbacking before. Wouldn’t be the first time. Kyler would have to play at the bottom of his capabilities. But it could happen.

Look at some of those games last season where the defense played out of their minds and the offense just let them down for the L. I hope and pray it doesn't happen, but I don't have much faith in Kyler by now.

WIN Week 1 at Saints - ugly win in front of a lackluster superdome crowd
WIN Week 2 host Panthers - anti-card panther mojo can't withstand this scenario
WIN Week 3 at 49ers - I think we have their number and they're fading too.
LOSS Week 4 host Seahawks TNF - 3-0 start momentum wasted, everyone upset.
WIN Week 5 host Titans - We right the ship against the hapless Titans
WIN Week 6 at Colts - defense clamps down for the win at Lucas Oil
LOSS Week 7 host Packers - Jordan Love out duals K1 - everyone upset.
Week 8 BYE
WIN Week 9 at Cowboys MNF - Kyler shines in front of his homeboys
LOSS Week 10 at Seahawks - SEA front seven mauls our oline again. Darnold does just enough.
WIN Week 11 host 49ers - Cardinals blowout the 49ers, sending them into a tailspin.
LOSS Week 12 host Jaguars - shocking loss in front of the home crowd
WIN Week 13 at Bucs - Mayfield struggles against our D - Conner/Benson carry this win.
WIN Week 14 host Rams - front seven depth key in this one as Stafford pummeled into submission.
LOSS Week 15 at Texans - Texans fighting for the playoff at home upset Cardinals in a close one.
WIN Week 16 home Falcons - Cardinals rout the Falcons.
LOSS Week 17 at Bengals - f****** Joe Burrow. God I hate him (lol)
LOSS Week 18 at Rams - a must win game to clinch a wildcard and a sickening loss. Prove me wrong K1. For the love of god, prove me wrong.

10-7 but miss the playoffs on tiebreakers.

will Kyler even throw 20 times though? Seems if our defensive front beats up on cincys weak oline,... JC and the boys should dominate most of our offense...which also reduces Trey Handrickson as a factor
Agree. Murray has won on the road in inclement weather before. We just ran the ball to win.

It’s too hard to predict anything 4 months out, but barring major injuries to critical players, this team has put themselves in position to win a minimum of 11 games, but probably more. In my lifetime, the organization top to bottom, has never been in better hands.
We won 13 games with Arians but you’re very smart also

Great avatar. I had Kwame sign an old Upper Deck card with "The Swami's Cousin" way back in the day when they were doing a seat selection thing at SDS.

RIP.
When I used to work at Fiddlesticks near the training facility, Kwame used to always come in. We would play Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and NFL Blitz together. It was awesome.

Yes, Arians won 13 in 2015. And yes, that was a very good team. But, they were built with older vets & that success was not sustainable with a 40 year old QB that was always injured. They lost by 40 in the NFC Championship game & were never heard from again. This current version is built to be viable for a much longer period of time.

I say undefeated through the Super Bowl! 20-0
I think defense and offense can win games - depth is now deep.

Why do so many predictions have us losing to the 49ers at all, but especially week 3?

1) Cardinals swept them last season.

2) Most would agree that the Cardinals are an improved team this off season via free agency and draft.

3) 49ers lost a LOT of good players in the off season resulting in a decline.
Winning on the road can be tough. Divisional matchups are tough. They have the HC advantage. Some people argue they have the QB advantage. People equate some of their drop off to health (shouldn't be an issue early). They believe their losses were a bit overrated and might be offset by bringing back Salah to run the defense.

Not saying that you need to agree with this, but these are the arguments.

I've heard nat'l media claiming SF will win 10 or more games due to a weak division. Nobody can say with any certainty what will happen. Folks claiming we are a lock to beat SF twice are not grounded in reality, let's just say.

Seems like people thought the Rams would fall off a cliff last year, too.

I get what you are saying, but I still have more of a concern of going against Burrow, Chase and Higgins than Lawrence, Thomas and Hunter. Also, Kyler outside in December in Cincy is a significant concern for me vs Burrow.
Jax should be better but their QB has been beaten down badly. If he plays better under the new system it could be a trap game. With Chase and Higgins back if healthy I think the Cards will be hard pressed to win.

With you homeboy! We routed them last year to end the season! Ran them off the field!

Now that we've had a better offseason, why should they be favored in either game?

I worked at Incredible Universe in the video game section in college.
Cardinals would be in every week to buy stuff.

Those were fun times.

They won 6 games last year with the same QB and more weapons.

The national media is in love with a 49ers team that no longer exists.

Salah coming back changes nothing.
