Carlsbad Tavern for our 19th anniversary. Mmmmm.

:jedi:
Just went there Monday night with some friends who live in Bakersfield, CA. Carlsbad Tavern is still an amazing place. Great food, ambiance, etc.

Crazy that it was so close to our anniversary again. It's 32 years together as of tomorrow. April 1st will be 25 years married.

I had two Tillamook sharp cheddar cheese sticks and 1/2 of a crispy crunchy Clausen kosher dill pickle.

Might sound crazy, but cheddar and dill pickle are amazing together...the sour and bitter enhance each other and the pickle adds needed moisture to the cheese to help it dissolve in your mouth...it's awesome.

The most overrated breakfast restaurant in the history of man.
Thank you! I never got why people raved about it and would wait a long ass time for it. People like my ex-wife. I have never been back and never will go back.

^^^ huh? I don't even know what a Birria is. . But, is it has beef in it, it must be good. :)
Dude... i totally scored. My local market has beef Birria in a pouch for 6 bucks. Just heat and eat...and it's amazingly good.

Birria is shredded meat slow cooked in a sauce made out of char grilled tomatoes and three different chili peppers...you grill them, then blend them in a blender with a few seasonings, then strain it if you couldn't blend it fine enough...you simmer your meat in the gravy for 3 to 4 hours.
Makes awesome tacos and that's how most restaurants serve it...as Birria Tacos
