The PAC has the worst PR department I've ever seen. Is anyone in the local media in Arizona holding Crow or Anderson accountable?

Yeah, they are going to "trade up" without a media deal to offer. :sarcasm: Or at least not a competitive one.

Kliavkoff is Klueless. I just hope that UA doesn't end up in the Big 12 without ASU.

I have said this could happen multiple times in this thread. if we are lucky they will still play in nonconference.

If only one of us is left to some sort of bizarro Mountain West/Pac-10 hybrid I can assure you the one who escaped to greener pastures will not be doing the other any favors with any sort of home and home scheduling.

Board of Regents will have something to say about that.

Since when does the BOR dictate out of conference scheduling?

Well, they have never had UA and ASU is separate conferences, but until Lute the Chicken got the ABOR to drop the mandate, they made UA and ASU play NAU in Flagstaff in alternating years in basketball, so yes, they have been involved in OOC scheduling.

UA refusing to do home and home with ASU would not fly - guaranteed.

Dude that was 40 years ago. You don’t t think college athletics landscape has changed just a bit since then?

That's not reality anymore.

I can see similar things happening down the road in the Pacific NW. When Oregon and UW are in the B1G, OSU and WSU will be wanting to ensure that the Apple Cup and Civil War continue. Funny thing, the UW fans see Oregon as their big, hated rival, and vice versa.

Does the B1G need the Pacific Northwest market when they already have LA?

The fact that it took Deion Freaking Sanders to motivate this move should embarrass many presidents/ADs. The demise of the conference has been evident for years, and once the LA schools abandoned ship, there was no chance of its revival. I think in the end, UofA ends up in the Big-12, but the fact that Robbins and Heeke werent in the front of the line is dumb.

And? Arizona State regents aren't going to let UA refuse to do OOC matchups with them.

Maybe once UofA flips the bird at ASU, you can lobby for ASU and NAU to fight for the Territorial Cup

I wouldn't say "need," right now, but as the conference's most valuable brands or markets, UW and UO would be schools the B1G could "want" in its competition with the SEC. I am inclined to agree with ASU alum Matt Barrie's take today:

Big 12:
Colorado
Utah
Arizona St
Arizona
Big 10:
Oregon
Washington
Stanford
Cal
Uhhh:
Oregon St
Washington St
