I thought he pretty much just said everything we already know. His summary of PHX history would be nice to have new Suns fans listen to to get up to speed quickly.
So what was the last decade of the Suns called? Who's the coachBetween the coin flip, The Hawk, Cinderella Suns, cocaine Suns, Cotton’s contenders, Barkley era and Nash era one could write a killer book on Suns history.
So what was the last decade of the Suns called? Who's the coach
Sarver's Folly.
off the top of my head, some what-ifs Simmons left out:
what if we re-signed McDyss?
what if Joe Johnson wasn't injured and was re-signed?
what if Nash's nose wasn't crushed against the Spurs and Amare wasn't suspended?
what if that ref didn't fix the Suns playoff game
what if the Suns didn't let Amare get away
what if the Suns didn't blow their hand and did get Curry in that draft day trade?
what if Popovich didn't outsmart the Suns with his hack-a-Shaq and complaints about him stepping over the free-throw line?
What if the Suns Kerr didn't push D'Antoni out?
What if Sarver didn't push Kerr out?
What if D'Antoni didn't hate Kurt Thomas?
You missed it. He did mention the Barkley era, just didn’t cover it in much detail. What's funny is he didn't mention Charles Barkley if i recall correctly, when he was mentioning era's, or maybe i missed it.
Hopefully we can sustain this type of winning to make it an era and not a 1 or 2 seasons of winning and flaming out, our guys are young enough to make it a great era of suns basketball again.
The coverage of that was dominated by KJ and his hamstrings. You missed it. He did mention the Barkley era, just didn’t cover it in much detail.

Should’ve been more about Majerle’s b2b no shows vs Houston.
he went from Thunder Dan to Blunder Dan very quickly.
like he wasn’t CLOSE by the ends of both of those series.
How did I miss that nickname? Perfect.
such a painful transformation to watch. To go from plucky kid, fearless attacking anyone when he first got in the league to Crazy Dan Majerle range in the run to the a Finals to a complete waste of space on the floor in the blink of an eye. Hated seeing that go down.
One of the biggest What If's in Suns history I think about is what if Richard Dumas wasn't an addict? He was so ridiculously talented in that Finals run and could have been a focal point post-Barkley, or he might have kept Barkley here because we really didn't have young talent to lighten Chuck's load later in his time here.
I had very high hopes for Dumas but getting Oliver Miller over his food addiction might have helped us even more.

Miller was extremely talented. He didn’t event have to be really fit, he could have played effectively at 275 pounds.I had very high hopes for Dumas but getting Oliver Miller over his food addiction might have helped us even more.
