Burfict is still just 28 years old. Talent never in doubt, but he hasn't played more than 11 games since 2013 because of injuries, suspensions. Release saves #Bengals $5,688,971 in cap space. End of an era.

On Bengals' release of Vontaze Burfict: Team felt like his play was in decline, which made it harder to justify all the issues that came along with him.

He's lost a step, so interest in him on the market will be interesting.

When I think of Burfict, I think of that playoff game vs the Steelers where he picked off Landry Jones, then with several other defensive players ran off of the field as if it was a done deal. Of course Jeremy Hill coughs up the ball on the first play from scrimmage, and the Cinncy D collapsed, with Burfict committing a personal foul that put Pittsburgh in field goal range to win the game.

Holy crap. I don't think even Suh paid this much in fines. That's an average of $600K in fines a year.

On the day Vontaze Burfict is released and available, worth noting: The #Raiders are already doing work on LBs, hosting FAs Manti Teo and Aaron Lynch, source said. Oakland may have interest in Burfict, too.
