The police didn't know who Hunt was

You don't know this, yet you state it as fact despite being very improbable

A black man assaulting a white girl not being arrested? Does that sound common?

You're saying cops make race base decisions as their standard and anything outside of that isn't a norm?

So why does Hunt have to suffer all of the consequences?

Because he started a physical confrontation after putting himself into a bad situation and then lied about the scenario to his private employer that he knew full well would disapprove of his actions.

The only consequences that are being handed out are by his employer.

Should the NFL hand consequences to anyone else?

She is the monster in this situation, not him.

Dude, you're drowning already. May not want to put on lead boots

Anyone who intentionally sets out to extort and/or ruin another person's life is much more monstrous than someone who loses their temper after being continuously prodded.

Set out to ruin his life?

Continuously prodded?

This had to be a parody account right?!

Or maybe a teenager with no life experience?

Just being obtuse for giggles?

Unbelievable that some people are resorting to race in this discussion.

The situation here is simple. Hunt shouldn't have had a 19 year old girl at his booze fueled party. The 19 year old shouldn't have been there, and should have acted like an adult. If she did in fact hit someone with a lamp and start breaking out racial slurs, terrible on her.

But the long and short of it is that you can't be a 24 year old NFL star and go start poo in the hallway of a hotel. You CERTAINLY cannot kick a 19 year old girl in the ribs when she's down. Even if you're uncomfortable calling hotel security or the police, at least thumb a friend a few hundred bucks to kindly escort her away, instead of putting your career on the line.

Card should pick him up off waivers
I so saw this coming.

The Cardinals need to draft a player with no question marks on character at the top of the board.

Hunt didn’t have any character concerns before the draft.

Nkemdiche did. So does Steve Keim. We need a stable locker room. Especially with Fitzgerald potentially gone and Peterson likely angry. Who is going to lead the locker room?

I just disagree that there is never any reason to issue a physical response. Not necessarily a punch but it makes it hard to discuss when all physical contact is being considered an assault.

So... hitting, pushing down, kicking a woman (19 years old) is justifiable in your world? Just wanna be sure I’m clear here, that you believe that it’s cool for a man to physically assault a young woman... am I reading you correctly?

Mike Vick went to prison and was back on a NFL roster. Hunt will play for someone again.

Lawrence Phillips threw some girl down the stairs and was a top 5 pick.

Leonard Little killed somebody drunk driving and played.

The list goes on and on.

Doesn't mean he should have the patience of Job either. I agree that he lost his temper but I also feel like she was out to cause trouble. I'm not sure how restrained someone should be expected to be after being called a *igger and getting punched in the face. I suppose one is of very fine character if they can grin and bear that but I don't know that it's reasonable to expect it.
If you lay with dogs, you risk getting fleas. At some point professional athletes need to stop being marks and recognize they have the most to lose. They need to quit putting themselves into situations where they can get their livelihood taken away.

In this situation, stay away from drunk 19 years olds when you are a professional athlete.

All restraint, patience and common sense goes out the window when they're drunk. So the real culprit here (as usual) is alcohol. Shocking, I know ...

I don't think so. I don't think assault on anyone is acceptable. But I don't think every form of physical contact is assault and I don't think just because a man and woman are involved that the man is automatically at fault. Do you?

HUNT initiates contact, pushes her first, he then throws the guy trying to calm the situation down out of the way so he can press up on the girl again, he raises his arms and it's only then that she defends herself and throws a punch. A scrum then develops... he gets pushed back in his room, then comes flying back out and basically tackles the guy and the girl, forcing her to crash into the wall. then when down on the ground, he comes back and KICKS THE GIRL WHILE SHE'S DOWN.

Then, he lies about what happened to the Chiefs. Then, he comes out and says this was all on him. Then he says he hasn't even gotten counseling yet, but is now considering it (AFTER he got outed).

Continuing to argue for Hunt and calling the girl a monster while spreading complete and utter rumor with no concrete evidence of her "hitting people with lamps" using an "n-bomb" (again, literally NO PROOF of that) reveals the only monster besides Hunt in this situation is you.

Oh, screw you. Just because I don't want to agree with you and vilify Hunt without know all that led up to the situation and make blanket statements about every situation doesn't make me a monster. This girl was just as culpable from what I've read and seen. She had the opportunity to leave and did not and was violent too. Please quit acting as if she was an 8 year old little girl in a sun dress sprinkling flower petals all over the hotel.

Uh oh.

Kareem Hunt being investigated by NFL for second incident in Ohio, allegedly punched man

Kareem Hunt is being investigated by the NFL for another incident that took place in Ohio, June 3rd 2018.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...-incident-in-ohio-could-face-long-suspension/

"The problem for Hunt is that it's going to be hard to argue that the February incident was a one-time lapse in judgement if he went out and punched a guy in the face just four months later. "

You can disagree all you want but in these situations, the male is going to be held to a different standard and the athlete has the most to lose. That isn't a new thing, and male athletes can't be shocked when this is the result. They can't cry fowl when they keep getting played like marks. There is a reason these women are hanging around and it isn't for true love. They are looking for a payday and these athletes are falling for the honey pot. Some athletes however choose to not recognize that the women who are showing this thinking pattern may not be the most stable or ethical individuals.

KC's most explosive offensive player, Tyreek Hill, was kicked off his college team for punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend. Clearly the Chiefs are willing to take guys with baggage and so is most of the rest of the NFL. In this case it sounds like they only released him because he'd been lying to them since Feb. Not saying that's wrong, they did release one of the better RB's in the NFL so give them credit it wasn't the easy thing to do, but they did it in large part because they felt he made them look bad.

I don't disagree with any of that. The different standard, most to lose, etc. Hunt took the bait and lost his temper. We don't know everything that led up to this minute of video but Hunt should be criticized for not controlling his temper. I just disagree that he should be ruined and vilified.

But that is the consequence...that is why he shouldn't put himself in those situations. Instead he parties with an immature 19 year old who is drunk and hanging around him for reasons that only are negatives for him.

If you are an angry drunk, you have to deal with the fact that you may put yourself in a situation where you get an assault charge.

If you like young girls, you may put yourself in a situation where she says she is 18 but she isn't, and you get a sex offense charge.

If you like to get messed up and drive...DUI.

It goes on and on. No excuses, especially for these guys who have multiple individuals brought in front of the team who speak about avoiding these situations.

The consequence for questionable judgment should be vilification and the end of his career? Wasn't he the one there with his girlfriend and who kicked these girls out of the party? Not saying he's an angel but the possibility of him trying to do the right thing is there.

We have to guess since no verified report is out there but one story is that he and his girlfriend returned to the hotel room, found his buddies with these women, one of the women hit someone with a lamp and they were told to leave the party. Now, do we know for sure that it was Hunt who had the girls there? Since his girlfriend was also there, it makes it seem questionable. Was he ultimately responsible for who was in his room? Sure. And I think that's why he came out into the hall in the video. He's smiling and looks to be trying to diffuse things. He's talking to someone straight in front of him but something to his left sets him off and he turns that way and shoves the female in question. He didn't come charging out of the room in an aggressive, fighting stance ready to throw down.

So, did he have the girls in the room or did his friends? Did one of those girls hit someone with a lamp and cause trouble leading her to get thrown out? Was he even talking to the girl in the hall or someone else before the shoving? Why were there no arrests?

There is just a lot involved for me to automatically assume that he's a monster who should never be allowed to play football again. I think the details are important and to me, this isn't domestic violence and a pattern of abuse toward women, it's more of a scuffle at the tail end of a party. Did he let his pride and alcohol lead to a lapse in judgment? Yes, it seems pretty clear. Does this mean that he's definitely an abusive, dangerous person? I wouldn't say so.

Getting baited into altercations is by no means commendable and with another alleged incident, he seems to have a problem. But he is being labeled a monster and that he should be locked up. Shoving someone and tapping them with his foot is what he actually accomplished. Seems excessive to lump him in with those who have punched defenseless people in the face, stabbed someone, etc.

If it had been an average sized or even small sized man getting shoved and kicked on the leg would the outrage be similar or the same? If not, why not? If physical disparity is the issue then why is a woman untouchable regardless of actions and a man fair game? Isn't it sexist to exclude women just because of their gender? If someone is willing to dive into a fracas and start punching people in the face aren't they sacrificing their exempt status?

Those are all ancient history to today's NFL.
