I'd put Skelton in #1 right away but for the same reason they were going to start him this year. Let the 245lb kid take the hits while the offensive line gets some time together saving the $60 million dollar man for later when hopefully they've learned to pass protect for longer than .23758 seconds.

Skelton figured his ankle health, percentage-wise, is in the 90s. “It’ll probably be like this for a while, until I really give it time to rest and settle down,” Skelton said. “I guess if need be, yes, I could play Sunday.” Skelton, not surprisingly, said he was frustrated. “You’re a football player, so you want to be out there playing football,” Skelton said. “Not riding bikes and in the training room and such. (But) injuries are part of the game. It’s how you come back from them, how you deal with them.”

Given the shelling Kolb took the last two games it's probably for the best we have as many healthy backup QB's as possible.

I'm starting to question Skelton's toughness. First, he laid on the ground as if he had his leg snapped in two like Joe Theisman and it was only an ankle sprain. Now, he's saying he could play, "if he had to", yet says his ankle, healthwise %, is in the 90's. If you can't play when your 90%, then you can't play. There's not a player in the league playing at 100%. Hell, McNabb beat the Cards playing on a broken ankle. Suck it up John and get out there. Kolb has been beaten like Marvis Frazier against Mike Tyson and he's back there every play. The way the OL is playing Skelton needs to be ready. The Cards are in 1st place and don't need a Ryan Lindley possibly in the game if Skelton is 90%.

You really think Skelton is going to light the world on fire? With this line and no running backs he better find a way to evade the pass rush and a way to block for the RBs because that is the only way he will even cause a little smoke.

Not really. I like Skelton. I'd say that about anybody.

Or are you going to tell me that when he was flopping around on the turf that you thought he sprained an ankle.

Before you mention Wells, because I know that's where you're headed, I called him out in college when he hurt his foot running into the line and dropped/fumbled the ball because his foot hurt. Inexcusable. Kind of like when Holmes dropped the ball when he hurt his foot for the Jets and gave the other team a TD. Maybe that's an OSU thing.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is trying not to disrupt the team with a QB controversy?

I sure would prefer him being the backup to Lindley though, if not this Sunday for sure the next game.
