They could have run the ball to the left side at Umenyora that whole drive... they could have run out of the shotgun for an easy first down there..

Whiz is convinced his passing offense can get the job done in those spots, and without Kurt, it never seems to go well for us

Its not hindsight at all for fans to be concerned that the Cards are continually blowing leads and failing to convert on short yardage plays and giving up first downs on 3rd and long. The Cards should be getting better at preventing those things not worse.

Of course I don't know what we can do about the parade of just unbelievable losses year after year.

I sure wouldn't have. You ride the hot hand, IMO. Beanie was rolling people, and late game after pounding them all game, well, running it (success or fail) is the right call IMO.

I can't complain though about going to Fitz, either. I simply think Beanie would have been the better try. Fewer chances for error.

yes that's where the game turned IMHO. To me the key is get the first down so you know you have 4 more plays. Obviously if the screen pops whiz is a genius but the way we'd run on them the whole 2nd half, 2nd and 1 just seemed like a clear run down to me.

I also think we need to use Kolb's feet more, design some plays that give him the option to run, he's getting so much heat from outside pass rushers and we're not very good at screens which is the usual way to combat that. So some QB draws might help.
