A QB who can run our offense

I know it's a completely whacky stupid idea, but if I was going to trade for a guy for this team, he's the guy who can run what we do better than anyone else we could get for any reasonable price.

He's got no stats to cause him to cost a fortune, he's exactly the type of player that would be able to pass accurately enough to get our WR's the ball as close to what Kurt did as you'll find in any player we can get to and he's had two years of NFL training camps in a offense much like ours.

We're not going to take a high QB in the draft, maybe we should but we won't and we don't have a ton of picks to give.

Trade them a player, and a pick or just a pick a 3rd rounder and a decent player might do it.

That's about all we can afford if we're not shooting the moon here for a great player like Luck.

I'd be cool with him with Skelton as a backup, but it'd be a risky move that I'm sure I'll get blasted for, I still believe it'd work though.

I'm always terrible at the round thing for value.

For a 6th I have got to think that would be worth it.

He's the type of QB that runs the offense we want, he's a gunslinger type, makes quick reads and gets the ball out.

Whatever it took up to a third I'd pay, you're probably right it would not cost that much but they have no backup if he leaves, he's the only other QB they carry on their active roster.

I think they have one on their practice squad, not sure.

This team has many holes to fill, mostly on the offensive line. If we can't get Luck, I'd trade down, get more picks, and then take a QB like Ponder in the later rounds. I think Ponder is a project but he has the tools. And I think he could be had in the 3rd or even 4th round. This way we can draft a shut down corner or a pass rushing DE in the 1st and fill O-line in the 2nd and 3rd. I think this should be Whiz's focus. As for a QB, I wouldn't waste a 2nd on Orton like some would want to. If you're going to deal a 2nd, then try to get Kolb.

A guy with a Scout Inc rating over 90, and on Kiper's top 25 board, going in the 3rd or 4th round....

We need a QB smart enough to audible off some of the plays when the defense looks like they know the deal. Warner was very good at this, if we can find some one like that, they don't even have to be as good as Warner.
Skelton looks like has those kinds of smarts, but he needs more time. Luck looks like a genious/Peyotn style guy that could definitely read what the Defense is bringing. Newton wouldn't be bad either, he can keep a Defense honest with his scrambling and that could do wonders for our O-line schemes.Play action all day.

The vet we bring in should be a super smart one, one that will get out of certain plays before they happen. Accuracy is also a big factor, get a QB that has accuracy, no more "fixing" bums like DA.

Yup, he and Brennen were splitting time on that roster for a little bit. Had an OK showing in his preseason with them.
Now a Saint, aside from Sunday's limited action haven't seen him play.
Missouri QB, so he was a 'wide-open' passer in college.

He got worse three seasons in a row, he has one healthy season in his career. He is NOT Warner. Warner had no season where he started more than 1 game where he completed under 62% of his passes, and only one season in his career where he threw more INTs than TD. Bulger's last 3 seasons he never topped 58% and totalled 27 TDs and 34 INTs.

He has been to the Pro Bowl exactly one more time than Derek Anderson(2003 & 2006--8 & 5 yrs ago)...lets not act like he was an annual Pro Bowler or even in the Pro Bowl recently.
