Whisenhunt wants to win. Does anyone really think Whisenhunt would move away from Leinart if he believes Leinart gives him a better chance to win than Anderson? I just can’t see it.

:stupid:

Yeah, this clears absolutely nothing up. I'm starting to get the feeling that Whis wanted Anderson brought in because he wanted to choose 'his guy' at QB. We've always heard the vaguest winds of rumor that Whis wasn't behind Leinart because he wasn't 'his guy', that he hadn't drafted Leinart. I'm starting to think there's validity to that idea.

What was the point of this??? Though he's my favorite media guy, that has to be the most worthless article Urban has ever written.

Lets not start pulling out games because I can easily pull out a handful of mediocre games Matt Leinart has played in.
Leinart's worst day in pop warner wasn't 2/17. Calling that game by Anderson "mediocre" is insulting to mediocre.

Granted, weather had a lot to do with those numbers, but come on. 2/17. Even Edwards was 50% (and tried almost 2x as many passes)

It may be worth mentioning too that Edwards threw for over 6 X's as many yards as Anderson that day.

Good Lord. I knew he had a bad year last year. But, I didn't realize it was THAT bad. :(

IF Whisenhunt goes into the season with DA as his starter, and we dump Leinart, he's either going to be a total genius or a fool.

Jerome Harrison ran the ball 72 times in the last two games. (33 and 39)

Maybe CKW is planning on TH and Beanie having 17 carries apiece with LSH and Wright combining for another 5-10. The Arizona Cardinals running the ball 650 times in one season. Wouldn't that be something.

:D

I hope the "I just want to win" doesn't mean I see games like this.

This is what I fear. Derek's ceiling is only so high but his floor is VERY low.

NEWSFLASH!! Warner has moved on from the NFL to Dancing With The Stars!

Since you have trouble making objective remarks about any players, you should do commentary for that show. Because obviously, your man love for Warner clouts your judgment

No diehard wants to hear this but Whisenhunt is putting his credibility on the line by dumping Leinart for Anderson. It's not going to be from us, but the media. By week 6, the "what if Leinart started" articles from come out from the local and national pundits.

No he isn't. Have you heard the media and their bias against Matt long before this switch was made? Media don't give two craps about Matt. It's his cult following amongst fans that's amazing.

This will only happen if Leinart is cut and picked up by someone else and excels.

(unlikely on so many counts...I don't think he gets cut, and when picked up he won't start for at least half the season, if at all, for someone else).

That's the fun part. The masochist in me is really digging this, but the drama isn't high enough yet. I want Leinart to have a "Denny Green moment" or something.

I think the gamble is not benching/releasing Toast. The gamble is going with a historically bad QB as your starter based on a fairly mediocre preseason where all the good and especially bad has been showcased by him, and backing him up by two rookies (one a spitfire UDFA). That's a ballsy, and potentially damaging, move.

If DA shows us he is who we thought he was, it doesn't matter if Toast was superbly hated, the media will be ALL over the Cardinals for not getting a better QB, for taking a risk with a known poor QB, etc. Since when have you ever known the media to bypass taking easy shots at the Cards?

Yes he is. If the Cards aren't successful at QB this season, HE will be blamed for it, not the QB.
