Blasphemy.

Untimely interceptions, erratic play and clearly forced passes over a month period >>>> Thomas Jones' failure to show up in the final game of the season.

You misunderstood, I was saying TJ was a bigger reason the Jets were better this year than Farve, I wasn't blaming him for them falling apart at the end.

Oh ok. Cosign. Jones and the FA o-linemen were big for the Jets.

Prove it.

Curses are right there with Santa Claus, unicorns, the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, pink elephants, and owners of football teams deciding who wins and loses over single malt scotch and Cuban cigars. ;)

I've heard it's either going to be Roethlisberger or Fitz.

I'm going to go against the grain here.. I'm estatic over Fitz being on the cover, and no it's not because I have some sadistic hope that he gets on the cover to be another "Madden Curse" victim.

I look at it this way.. This further shows that the Cardinals have arrived. Who would have EVER thought they'd see an Arizona Cardinal on the cover of Madden? This team is on the way up.

So you're saying we didn't win the Super Bowl because of Pottsville?:biglaugh:

Prove the Pottsville curse had no effect on the game. Put up some facts. Some scientific data. Not just your opinion which is just as biased as anyone else's.

You can't, so you simply belittle the people who disagree with you to deflect from the fact that you can't come up with any more scientific basis for your opinion than those who believe in curses do for their's.

I'm not belittling you Duckjake, not at all man. Can you come up with scientific facts that prove there are curses? If you believe it, so be it.

That's exactly what I've been saying. We can't prove that there aren't curses and we can't prove that there are. So its fun, for me at least, to talk about them. To just come on here and call people stupid for believing in them with no scientific data to disprove the notion is simply wrong imo. (I know it wasn't you that did that btw)

If you believe in curses the onus to prove, scientifically or otherwise, is on you. Elementary logic.

I think the Japanese have a saying for something like this about the poisonous but delicious blowfish...

People who eat blowfish are crazy, but people who do not eat blowfish are also crazy.

Does this prove we are all crazy???

You are the one who is making the claim that people are stupid for believing in curses therefore it is you who must provide the proof. Like I said when you have no proof belittle your opponent.

The easy way out.

Just the facts ma'am! I'm waiting.

Argumentum ad ignorantiam (argument to ignorance). This is the fallacy of assuming something is true simply because it hasn't been proven false.

The affirmative of this agrument is that curses exist. This is your position. One deals with the affirmative proposition before the negative, thus the logical expression... one cannot prove a negative. The onus is on you to give evidence to support your contention.

If, for example, you say that you believe in Santa Claus, Tooth Fairies, etc... and I say this is silly, it remains your duty to prove they exist. Same applies to curses.

If you can't appreciate this sequence given to us by Greek and Roman philosophers and the Enlightenment... well, there really isn't much to discuss.

Enjoy the dark age of superstition.

Again you come on here with nothing but your opinion. Please go get some facts to support your contention that people are stupid for believing in curses and come back. Some real proof that you are correct not just self-righteousness.

Its just like when you insinuated that people were stupid for saying that Pendergast was a poor DC and only a few days later he was fired.

I want facts dude, facts, not ,oddly enough, trying to disprove the existence of curses based on the philosophy of the founding fathers of modern mythology the greeks and romans.

If better minds than yours, Aristotle, Socrates... who were the opposite of mythologists, can't allow you to at least accept the rules of simple logic. There is nothing to add. In your mind curses exist... end of story.

PS: I never insinuated anything regarding CP. I'm quite direct in my expression, but always careful to introduce it as mere opinion. I thought that in all likelihood he would return. I was wrong.

And drop the "dude" reference. It's so juvenile.

Wrong, you came on the board with an attitude in a thread about Pendergast just a few days ago. I'll be glad to go retrieve it so you can see it in context.

As for your quote that works both ways. You claim that there is no such thing as a curse stating your opinion as true simply because it hasn't been proven false.

You have no proof therefore you have no basis for writing that people are stupid for believing in curses other than your opinion. No facts. No data. No research. Just your opinion.

However, since this is degenerating into a P&R style thread this will be my last response.
