Not sure if that was exactly what I meant, but up until his injury, Q was Warner's go-to guy. After the hip that guy became Fitz.So we are to say that what we assume Boldin can do healthy is more valuable than what Fitzgerald actually did.

When running down the sideline, it's bound to happen every once in a while. He was trying to maximize the angle that he had. He doesn't have breakaway speed and although he was behind the defense, it wasn't a sure TD. If a guy like Eric Dickerson got behind the defense...no question. He's gone. Fitz was in a footrace and had a long way to go. I wish his awareness would have been better but it wasn't like he ran out of bounds to avoid being hit. There a difference between losing your footing, getting your feet tangled and falling down as to being completely untouched and running directly out of bounds.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. With the new pass interference rules, it doesn't make sense to do that anymore, does it?
What you say makes some sense.Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
With a good line, you can run the ball successfully, which is the main goal on offense IMO. With above average blocking, the WRs will have plenty of time to get open and the QB will be able to find the best option. Any WR can get open with 5-7 seconds to do so. Look what happened to Champ Bailey this year when his team was unable to generate a pass rush.
Answer me this, what do you think would have happened had Q caught that pass against Tampa where Larry ran out of bounds for no reason???
They are a wash IMO. Both good at what they do. But one is certainly more electrifying than the other.
Prime example of why i prefer Q to Fitz:
His play on the field may not be equal in some eyes, but I dare someone to tell me that he would have held out like this and cost the team Pace and likely Faneca as well. There is something to be said for team players.
Well, maybe I wasn't totally correct. After Fitz robs us for this 14.5mil and we cut him next year he will probably be willing to go play cheap for a contender in 2009.
Everything you wrote is true.Yeah, I guess that's why Boldin has Drew Rosenhaus as his agent and held out of OTAs until he got an extension a few years ago.
People are actling like Fitz did something. All he did was make the Pro Bowl twice in four seasons. He's not demanding money that he didn't earn and wasn't on terms agreed upon before hand. If the Cards couldn't live with the deal they made, they shouldn't have offered it.
Yeah, and in all of those games he had a bum hip...(8 rec., 29 yards, 3.9 YPC[!!!!]) that everyone forgets. Anquan Boldin was held under 60 yards receiving in 6 of the 12 games he appeared in last season.
Happened to Fitz twice.
Yeah, and in all of those games he had a bum hip...
No doubt.
Look Boldin is my favorite player. But Fitzgerald has been more productive, and is getting harder, and harder and harder to cover each year. That is just that.
Guys are calling out Fitzgerald game by game last year? ARE F'N KIDDING ME?
Why don't you write up what Boldin did for us game by game ? Let's drag his name through the mud, and put him under the microscope.
Someone wanna say Fitz is making too much $$$ ? FINE.
Someone wanna say we should think about trading him ? FINE.
But dragging his name through the mud, questioning his heart, and down playing the guys AMAZING production is ridiculous and untrue.
Fitzgerald has played his butt off for this team through good and bad. He has played injured, he has looked to improve his game when he was doing fine just relying on ability, and he is a young talented reciever who is getting a bad rap in the press and on this board for reasons I cannot imagine.
It is getting pretty disgusting. IMO
The guy deserves some respect.

Yeah, and in all of those games he had a bum hip...
Really? He was hurt in Week 1 against the 49ers when he had 4 receptions for 22 yards and a long of 7? (5.5 YPC)?
who did anything in week one? do you remember how much our entire offense sucked that game? Or had you blocked it out until now like me?
It's equal parts amazing and pathetic how quickly you all seem capable of turning on a guy.
Football is football. Business is business. There wasn't a single thread knocking Fitzgerald's heart or performance in 4 years. Now he has an issue on the business side of things and he's a pansy, a quitter, an a-hole, and not really all that important. We can live without him. He's overrated. Etc etc etc.
Seriously, some of you need to put down your 11th beer of the day and get a life rather than sitting down at the keyboard and venting all this rage at the guy. Yes, he's already rich. Every guy on this team is rich. Believe it or not, he's not under any obligation to help Rod Graves out of the stupid deal he offered Larry or to give back any money to help the team. I'm sure all of you regularly offer to take paycuts at work when things get tough around the office.
If you watched the Cardinals last year and came away with any impression other than that Larry was A) the best offensive player on the team and B) the best receiver in football, or at least one of the 2 or 3 best, then I really don't know what to say to you. Maybe football isn't your sport.
There, now you can vent some anger at me and lay off of Larry for a while. Get a grip.
