Grossman is pretty much a rookie...
If you guys remember, Rex is our "China doll" and has actually not played much in the NFL due to injuries. We just keep holding our breath with each play, hoping that he won't get sacked and get hurt. Yeah, we have Brian Griese as backup quarterback, but not really sure how good he is currently. So, we Bear fans have that constant fear of "here today, gone tomorrow" with Rex. The "luck factor" again.
Just FYI, Bears teams throughout the years have been known for great running backs and great defense. It's the quarterback position that has always been lacking...well, unless you go way back to McMahon, or even further to Sid Luckman. Other than that, "nada"...."zilch". For that reason, I guess we're banking on Grossman to be "the saviour".
Hmmmmm. I suppose if I told you guys I was a lifelong Notre Dame fan (Hey...what can I say, I'm Chicago Irish, and my daughter graduated from ND in 2003)...that you'd pile on that team as well
Well, they're definitely good, but definitely not super-great like the teams ahead of them in the rankings. Personally, I don't ever think I'll recover from that Michigan fiasco. No "Luck of the Irish" on that day.
Still upset with ND for luring Tyrone Willingham away from Stanford and then dumping him before his contract was up. I do think there was a bit of a racial issue there...that if he had been a white coach, like Bob Davie before him (major sucky), he would have been allowed to at least complete his contract. That was a stupid move on the part of ND, because they alienated many of the black students or future students, athletes in particular. I might add that my daughter, who is biracial, was 1 of 45 African-American students in a graduating class of over 2.750 in 2003, so the ratio was not that great to begin with.
Anyway, I'm off my soap box for now, and possibly out of job because I've been screwing around with you guys all night. It's been fun though.
