...will be coming your way. You can't run and you can't hide. No matter how you pick them apart, they're undefeated. I was there for '85 Super Bowl, and I knew Walter Payton personally, as my kids went to St. Viator's HS with his son. No...there will never be another '85 Bears, but the '06 Bears are creating their own legend. The truth will be told as the season unfolds, and yes, there are always "spoiler teams" that are like flies in the ointment, as Joe Thiesman states on the Dan Patrick show on ESPN radio. However, at this stage of the game, the fact is that a winner is a winner, no matter how pretty or ugly the win.....and the Bears have had both. Now, there are only two undefeated teams in professional football, and the Bears are one of those two teams. They have everything...the passing, the rushing, the defense. You beat us in preseason, but practice has been over for a few months. The Bears learned from defeat, and they learned well. As far as comparing Grossman and McMahon, the "***** QB", the one thing they have in common is fearlessness and guts. Even Favre in his heyday made major mistakes because he took risks...but most coaches would prefer a QB who isn't a spineless jellyfish, because even though being fearless will bring you more chance of error, it will also bring you more chance of success. Grossman isn't afraid of anything, nor was McMahon, and look where that fearlessness brought the Bears back in '85. As far as McMahon's talent...and don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a ***** QB fan....he was above average, but not great. Sometimes sheer guts will make your talents seem even greater, just because you racked up wins when they really mattered. Grossman is equally, if not more talented, but still needs more games under his belt to prove that with certainty. I think he will, because he's dauntless and hungry. Yes, many teams out there could muster all the strength and talent within them and with some luck could beat the Bears. We can talk again when that day comes. Could be Sunday, could be later, but it hasn't happened yet, and therefore the Bears deserve to be feared at least a bit, if reality has any place in your thoughts. I would definitely expect the Bears to fear every opponent they meet on the playing field, because when fear is no longer a factor, you lose......you sit on your freakin' throne and you lose. Happens every single Sunday, Monday, Thursday, whichever day of the week.
