KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Prior to this afternoon’s Memorial Day game against the Royals, manager Aaron Boone offered a few updates regarding Yankees on the injured list.

Slugging DH Giancarlo Stanton (right calf strain) is scheduled for another comparison MRI on Tuesday, with the hope of beginning to ramp up toward running – if the results come back as anticipated.

Boone said that Stanton moved outside Monday to do his agility work, back in New York.

Also at Yankee Stadium, lefty starter Max Fried (elbow bone bruise) resumed playing catch Monday, though Boone cautioned he’s “not at the point of ramping up’’ as yet.

“Want to keep his arm going,’’ Boone said of Fried, who exited his May 13 start at Baltimore due to elbow discomfort.

By the next homestand, starter Clarke Schmidt (Tommy John surgery) will have his rehab switched to New York, but he’s yet to face live hitters. Schmidt’s big-league ETA remains, roughly, around August-September.

And righty reliever Angel Chivilli, sidelined since April 23 due to right shoulder discomfort, has resumed a throwing program but there’s no timetable for his return.
