Spain and Argentina are looking for a golden end to their soccer odyssey.
While many were tuned in to watch the star-studded battle between Lamine Yamal and Spain versus Lionel Messi and Argentina during the 2026 World Cup final, plenty of other celebrities were in attendance, from Olympian Ilia Malinin to A-list actor Brad Pitt.
Well, kind of.
Pitt actually wasn't spotted on camera, but the Fox broadcast crew mistakenly identified fellow Hollywood star Matt Damon for his Academy award-winning cohort.
Take a peek:
"Brad Pitt also among the fans here," John Strong said.
"Oh, that's Matt Damon," Stu Holden corrected his partner.
Coincidentally, Pitt did star as Greek hero Achilles in the 2004 film "Troy," which is based on Homer's "The Illiad." Damon starred as Odysseus in the Christopher Nolan-directed blockbuster based on "The Odyssey," released worldwide on July 17. So, a relatively easy mistake to make if you're familiar with film.
On the pitch, Messi and Argentina are on the hunt for their second consecutive World Cup title. Spain is looking to make a little history of their own: Should they win, they will become the first nation to win both the Men's and Women's World Cup in the same cycle.
The game was scoreless at the first hydration break.
So, no, Brad Pitt was likely not in attendance Sunday. There's no word as to Edward Norton's whereabouts, as well.
Damon, fresh off the world-wide release of "The Odyssey," was at the World Cup final alongside his wife Luciana Damon.
Damon, nee Barroso, was born in Argentina. The two were married in 2005.
