They've literally gone from getting cell phone breaks, to being told what to wear and when to wear it. It's a total culture shock and shift.

So hard to get excited for this one, even as an opener. I'll be happy if we keep it close and play a tight game.

I‘ve always been excited for openers, even when we’ve had guys like Hogeboom, Rosenbach, Tupa, Beuerlein, Schroeder, and Krieg start at QB. Add some trash HC’s like Holway, Wilkinson, Bugel, Ryan, McGinnis, Wilks, and KK, and it becomes very easy to get excited about this opener. It’s no doubt a rebuild, but progress will come sooner than people expect.

I don't think they have a choice, per Gannon's previous pressers, where he mentioned not wearing team approved gear to be a fineable offense.

Everyone is the same. No high paid guys turning up in outfits costing what a guy at the back of the roster earns in a week.

I'd wager these types of policies are a direct reflection of how the current coaching staff viewed player discipline from last year.

I agree. Football has always had a military-like structure. In the military, we build discipline by the smallest of actions. Google Admiral McRaven's commencement speech where he talks about the importance of making your bed in the morning.

When I first joined the Army I didn't really get why every little thing mattered like that, but I figured it out over time.

Wearing the team gear is just like wearing the uniform, which creates the sense of a team, a brotherhood.

Obviously, the cell phone breaks approach wasn't too successful, so give attention to details and rigor a chance.

It's just an analogy, not a 1 to 1 exact comparison, IMO. I'm pretty sure they aren't blasting hip hop and Jimmy Buffett over the loud speakers during basic training drills.

Franchises like the Chiefs & Warriors wearing whatever they want hasn’t prevented them from winning multiple championships.

That's a big help...if they go 2 TE, McBride can stay to chip or block with Ertz and 2 WRs in a pattern.
