The Celtics are tanking next season. They are going to tank to an extent that the 97 Spurs would blush. White will likely get traded, Brown is probably going to miss 30+ games with "soreness".

I can't blame em, they can keep their young duo, load up on assets and get the most out of a hopeless season.

hof pg.... nope(?)

hof scorer.... extra nope

two elite enforcers.... might be some hope

book will be back as the clear #1 this year - better be ready for it - he's gonna get doubled more than ever but instead of offense standing around watching the iso show they'll be playing actual defense on the other side

meaning devin will be deferring less while also hopefully having to score less but let's not forget he can go point book at anytime

what excites me already is our new defensive identity- only saw half the game this morning with mostly the bench was playing but even the you could smell what the ott was cooking - that's right - he gets the positive puns from me and I was more than michigan state skeptical - god i love basketball

Summary: ESPN's simulation of the season has us as the #9 seed, but don't get out of the play-in.
If we make the play-in, I see Book going nuclear to win a couple games. Then we probably get killed number 8 seed versus 1.

I'd be thrilled by this result, it is like a Suns fan's dream.

Suns are fun, Houston is a wet fart, the Lakers suck.

But even if the Warriors won the title, there is no way they win 63 with that team of vets who have won AND with Jimmy Butler who is notorious for being a post season monster and a regular season hypochondriac.

That alone tosses the whole simulation in the tubes.

We're just too deficient. Even optimistically, the only above average starter on the whole roster is Booker.

I hope they fight their asses off, and make it a fun season to watch, but I think the wins are going to be hard to come by.

I still think we get in as a six seed. Do we win a game in the playoffs? I don’t think so. That’s where my kool aid drinking stops.

We're getting way ahead of ourselves but if we were to get the sixth seed, I'd expect us to win at least one game if not two.

I think this team going to play balls to the wall this season. They will play hard each game.
Unfortunately I think they run out of gas when the post season starts.

They will be competitive most games, for most of the game be in it, then we will lose games in the last few minutes. We will be pre-cp3 when we couldn't close games out.

I don't approve of this sort of behavior. Play to win, always, but only with healthy players. Not like the Redskins broke that talented QB RG3 or something.

I agree but the Spurs are experts at losing to win and it has worked out unbelievably well for themselves. First David Robinson and Tim Duncan and now Wemby. As I've heard said in baseball, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying. ;)

Suns have put themselves in a predicament with Book in his prime and having given away all their draft picks. They might as well play as well as they can but I wouldn't mind at all if they went with a youth movement and just started playing Fleming and Maluach a bunch. And I don't think Dunn is getting enough time as it is. I'd rather he had an additional 10 minutes a game. Offense be damned.

dunn is morphing into dennis rodman which is great but he needs to keep shooting 3s and slashing to the bucket

Dunn has been his own worst enemy this year. He's fouling a lot and he's been way too tentative. I expect he'll find his groove but he needs to get his head right and confidence.

However, he's doubled his rebounding rate so far. Especially on the offensive end. So that's good.

I am worried that our defense looks so bad, when that has been a point of emphasis.
