Great depth pick up- stoked for it. This team finally has the depth on almost all fronts to make a push

Add in, cleared to play versus in playing shape is a bit of a gap.
agreed.... Although medically cleared, I think it was a bare minimum driven by his desire to get on a roster... I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals open the season with Mijo on IR and he sits out the first 4 weeks

If he is on IR then he is out for the year. He's on the PUP list. If he is still on that list to start the season he has to be out the first five games. Then, either activated, put on IR or waived with an injury release.

Appearently you cannot do that with a player that is added at this point.

New rules. You get the roster exemption for it at cut date, but the player must be on PUP pre camp

At least management followed thru on their commitment.. You do your part and we’ll be here for you.

Despite the medical clearance, the Cardinals have placed him on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list—a precautionary move as he works his way back to full strength.

agree.
Though it may have been a different result had they been successful in signing Fries a few months back....or not

Don’t get the excitement over signing this guy.
He’s an injured replacement level player.

Okay signing but a guy like Jedrick Wills as a backup tackle would be much better.

Huh?

We already have a back-up tackles. We desperately need interior depth.

Willis flopped as tackle. Heard a lot of speculation that he could benefit from moving inside, but that has not been proven and if that was to happen he should have been signed in spring

I expect him to be active at the start of the season, but maybe not starting.
Given the PUP rules, that seems like the most likely/only option.

Given the timing of the signing, he has to be active or out for the year. No 4-6 week PUP available for him - with a roster exemption .

Well, other than the fact that that guy said he’s sitting out the whole year to get healthy…. I mean?

using baseball analytics, Hernandez would be a 0 war.

If he was that desirable, he wouldn’t be signing a contract with any team after training camp started.

Cards offered, he accepted. No impact at all. Serviceable at best.

Strongly disagree. If Will Hernandez is healthy he is a top 20 guard in the league
If he’s a top 20 guard in the league, that’s a bonafide starter on 20 teams.

Sorry, not the case. And he’d been signed long ago.

He definitely needs to move inside...and could benefit from it.
But it's likely at his age he still isn't ready to accept the "demotion" to guard...tackle is a more elite position and gets paid better.
He might have to see 32 teams willing to start the season without him as an OT to finally accept his future is at guard

That's 50 shades of ********.
Of course nobody signed him. He was still in rehab.

Go ahead...list the offensive lineman free agents that were signed before getting medical clearance.
I'll wait.......

Yeah okay...
Name the 12 teams that have 2 guards better than Will.
You won't.
You can't.
They don't exist.
I certainly hope Will has a bigger impact than Hump did in his return from injury.

Yes, I realize two uniquely different positions on the OL but I’m not expecting much other than spot level play at a low cost.

I believe this is exactly the case. He would have been signed if he was willing to play G
