Florida football enters its first season under Jon Sumrall with hopes of moving up the SEC stadings.
Are the Florida Gators a preseason Top 25 team? That question will be answered on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at noon ET, when USA TODAY Sports unveils the preseason US LBM Coaches Top 25 live on YouTube.
Fans can watch the poll release on USA TODAY Sports' YouTube page. The show will include analysis from USA Today college football experts Blake Toppmeyer, Matt Hayes and Paul Myerberg, along with a special guest during the poll reveal.
Florida entered the 2025 season ranked No. 17 in the preseason USLBM Coaches Top 25 before stumbling to a 4-8 record. That led to UF firing of Billy Napier and hiring of Sumrall, who was brought in from Tulane after leading the Green Wave to an American Conference title and College Football Playoff Appearance,
Sumrall lured a pair of coordinators with Power 4 experience to join his staff, hiring Buster Faulkner from Georgia Tech as offensive coordinator and Brad White from Kentucky as defensive coordinator.
Florida returns five starters on offense and five starters on defense, including junior running back Jadan Baugh, sophomore wide receiver Vernell Brown III, junior linebacker Myles Graham and sophomore edge rusher Jayden Woods. Florida was picked to finish ninth in the SEC in the preseason All-SEC media poll. Baugh earned second-team preseason All-SEC honors at running back, while Woods earned third-team preseason All-SEC honors at defensive end. Brown earned third-team preseason All-SEC honors for special teams as a returner after averaging sixth in the SEC at 11.7 yards on punt returns last season.
