Will Indianapolis Colts' cornerback Sauce Gardner play in Week 17 against Jacksonville?

Here is the latest injury update on Gardner.

Sauce Gardner injury update

Garnder did not practice on Wednesday, but was listed as a limited participant on the Thursday injury report -- although that was just an estimation, with the team not actually practicing that day.

On Friday, however, Gardner was back on the practice field for the first time in a few weeks.

Shane Steichen announced on Friday that he expects Gardner to play on Sunday against Jacksonville.

#Colts HC Shane Steichen says that he expects CB Sauce Gardner (left calf) and LT Bernhard Raimann (right elbow) to play against the #Jaguars.

This week was Gardner's first back at practice since suffering a calf injury in Week 13 against Houston. He has missed the last three games.

Sauce Gardner's stats with Colts

In Gardner's first two games with the Colts, he has allowed five receptions on 10 targets for 38 yards with two pass breakups. He's also made 12 tackles.

Colts cornerback depth chart

Against San Francisco on Monday Night, Mekhi Blackmon, Johnathan Edwards, and Cameron Mitchell shared the outside cornerback snaps. Kenny Moore remained at the nickel.

Jaylon Jones' playing time has been almost nonexistent as of late, while Charvarius Ward is on injured reserve.

Gardner will obviously step back into a starting role with either Blackmon or Edwards next to him most likely.
