We tried to get him before.
He seems to buried on Tampa Bays depth chart.
He fits BA's mold.
He is 6"6" and 232 lbs. and is only 25 years old with 2 years experience.
He has a career 83.7 QB rating playing on a terrible team with no wr's
He has thrown twice as many Td's as Ints. (29/15)
He has a completion % of nearly 60% and has a strong arm.

I say let's go get him and why not? To draft any rookie would be a risk much bigger than Glennon and that QB would be starting from scratch.

We need somebody that can step in and play in 2015 and beyond should Palmer not be able to answer the bell. He seems to be a bright kid. A year on the bench to learn our system would be ideal. But if he had to step in tommorow I could live with the growing pains knowing we could possibly have a QB in plae for a minimum of 5 or 6 years.

Please don't say Stanton is the answer. There is a reason he has been a back-up for his entire career and has been oft injured. Would you REALLY feel confident heading into opening day with Stanton as our starting QB for the 2015 season? And even if we HAD to do that wouldn't you feel a bit better about Glenno coming off the bench if (when) Stanton ( or Palmer) went down?

After this season, I say it's a no brainer. Even if it cost us a draft pick it sure seems like a safer bet than the Logan Thomas 4th round pick. LT may develop 1 day, but we are in a position to win now. Those windows don't stay open for very long.

Any thoughts on what you'd give up for Glennon?

I could see us going after him. All depending on how Palmer ends up. IMO

Not to hijack your thread, but what in the hell happened to Josh Freeman? I read the stories when they first came out, but I haven't heard much of him in a while it seems. Is he really that bad, or permanently damaged goods?

I would be cool with glennon as im on record as wanting him in the draft, but honestly the only reason they would go after him would be because Carson wasn't recovering. Arians seems tied to Stanton as he didn't do anything to get himself left off the team and of course the pet project would have to crap the bed in the offseason for them to admit he was a mistake after one year and not even getting a chance to show how terrible he potentially is.

Interesting option. Better than drafting another project with a late round pick. Wonder what they would want as far as a draft pick or player trade?

The more I think about the importance of the QB position, instead of no more than a fourth round pick in exchange, I honestly would offer my third round pick for him and let Stanton walk. Stanton is what he is now and is not going to get better, Glennon would be worth it... we would just have to find pads to accommodate his long neck and all lol

That is what makes it interesting to see what kind of comp. they would want. My guess is they would want a second rounder. If we could get him for a 3rd I'd be all over it. Although we seem to do better in the third round then we do in second maybe I would rather give up a second...:D

I have been on the Glennon train since the draft, even had him in my mock....prototype...big pocket passer. Trade for Glennon, release Stanton....Stanton is a 50% passer who gets injured regularly from what I have seen. Enter 2015 season...Palmer, Glennon, Thomas

Why not? How about, he is not any good. And you'll be asking him to learn a third system in three years. Bad offensive lines and multiple coordinators is how you ruin a young quarterback.

The team didn't rally behind Stanton so he needs to go. But a good back up quarterback is almost an oxymoron in the NFL.

Didn't rally? He was 5-3 as a starter.

Give me your reasons why he isn't good because I don't see it. He's a good young QB in a terrible situation.

I'd rather take the chance on a QBOTF than another Minter, Lil Sweetness or Niklas. ;) Offer a 3rd & if they don't budge, send them the 2nd.

Let's put it this way, at some point not having a young QB who can perform well & win games will cost BA his job. Glennon may be a Dalton type QB, the question is can you win a SB with him? I think I can say with Stanton or Thomas we can't. Carsons got a few years left, but I want his replacement ASAP!!!

Does anybody here want Josh McCown at quarterback? In Glennon you are talking about a guy who was benched for Josh McCown.

He was the starting QB, at times, (and benched) for a team who now has the #1 overall pick.

Agree with don and Bodha. Don't see the attraction.

What are you talking about? He had Mike Evans who caught 68 passes for 1,051 yard and 12 scores. I would hardly call that "no wr's".

Glennon may not have a hot trade market, but with the Houston Texans, Raiders, Titans, Eagles, Dolphins and Bills as well as the Jets potentially changing quarterbacks, he could get some interest. Glennon replaced Russell Wilson at NC State and scouts have raved about his arm strength since he came out of college. The Buccaneers listened to offers for Martin at the deadline when he was averaging 2.9 yards per carry, but he has bounced back in recent weeks.

Mike Evans was a rookie and came to fruition after the Genius Lovie Smith decided way before the season started that McCown was his QB. Ironically he threw 4 td's to Evans when he was filling in for McCown.

I'm on the "no way" train here. Glennon is a mediocre talent, whose ceiling is like Andy Dalton. The combo of Stanton and Palmer (assuming Palmer can return to health) is enough for us to succeed. Glennon would only really achieve the creation of a QB controversy, would probably necessitate releasing Stanton (we can't keep a #3 QB at his salary), and would sidle us with a QB of the Future with a low ceiling for the coming 2-3 years. If we're going to pick up a QB to back up Palmer, draft him and craft him. I don't want another Kevin Kolb scenario.
