I thought that it was Wilks that joined him in the lawsuit, which then named Bidwill? Not sure that it makes that much of a difference though. He also named the Cardinals in his lawsuit, so that makes him pretty much a non-starter as far as being the next Cardinals head coach.
But outperforming the shitshow situation he has been in43-56
The same Brian Flores that sued the league for racism?Either an offensive guru (who is out there?)
or
Brian Flores, who would bring accountability and discipline
It was a bit more complicated with him. He was asked to tank and refusedThe same Brian Flores that sued the league for racism?
Ya think Mikey B is gonna touch that?? Flores has shown his tendencies and Bidwill has too... Mike would have to be a complete idiot on a self destructive bender to make that move
I don’t know, Proteus. The Cards had him in for a head coach-interview a year after he had filed the lawsuit, and wanted him for a second interview (he turned it down). It seems like a lot to do if it was only to comply with the Rooney rule. I think they were genuinely interested. He also named the Cardinals in his lawsuit, so that makes him pretty much a non-starter as far as being the next Cardinals head coach.
Lotsa DCs on that list! Not the most glowing description of board darling Kubiak.
Cards have invested more in the defense (arguably) under Gannon and Ossenfort but the offense is still well ahead.
The Cards are butt. The only way we get out of this is being realistic about where the team is right now. Hoping Elijah Jones is going to become something isn’t going to get us anywhere. Thinking that Josh Sweat is as good as Byron Young because they have the same number of sacks isn’t going to make this right.
Keim was a 2x Exec of the Year. Sometimes the accolades' shine wears off, and a long term body of work determines someone's true colors. Not that you're wrong with Stefanski, but I don't think winning coach of the year for a loser is the end all be all metric we should look at.Performance doesn’t lie. So does performance lie or not? Outperforming what? But outperforming the shitshow situation he has been in
Thanks for the reality check!Exactly - he filed the lawsuit in 2022 and Cardinals interviewed him in 2023.
In 2023, he was considered one of the finalists and he turned down a second interview because he had a "gut feeling".
Bottom line - I think he would be a great coach. Tough, disciplined, and a winner. However, you have to have an offense and I am not sure what he would do about his staff -they would need to be strong.
I will play the devil's advocate real quick because I think this is the argument for Stefanski. So does performance lie or not? Outperforming what?
Could do a lot worse than Stefanski and probably will.Stefanski had a great thing going until Haslam blew it with the OBJ and Watson trades. This was a franchise that went 1-31 in b2b seasons. You can tell he’s being undermined cause there’s no way he wanted Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders as his QB. If he gets fired his first call should be from Bidwill.
The upside is no one really identified McDonald to be what he is. We as fans don’t really have enough information to know one way or another. When this year started and even into week5 or 6, I didn't think there was any way I would want to see Gannon get fired this year. That has completely changed.
The real question for us - who is going to be able to coach on the level of the NFC West?
Not sure why I am leaning so much toward Flores right now but seems like he is the guy to disrupt the offenses of McVay and Shanahan while bringing the defensive intensity of Macdonald.
Guess how many times he won the division in those four years and how many times he finished third or last?I will play the devil's advocate real quick because I think this is the argument for Stefanski.
He was 37-30 4 years into his HC stint in a division with Tomlin's history of competitiveness, John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow. His offense also had never been worse than 20th in pts scored and 18th in yards. Once Watson's contract got expensive, the roster deteriorated and it has led to what is likely back to back 3 win seasons. He is still only 43. He also has ties to Bill Callahan for the offensive line and potentially, Brian Callahan to run the offense. This would provide a significant increase in experience in offensive coaching. He also uses a TE which is important for this franchise with McBride.
So, if you think you are buying the guy from the first 4 years, it makes sense. If you think he is burnt out and figured out as this year and last year seem to show...then I get passing on him.
Same. Flores, is type that winning is the only option. He would bring that discipline hard nosed type culture. All these potential offensive coaches none have that draw Ben Johnson had. It would seem to be just hiring offensive coach just because his offensive coach not that they have potential to be one of best coaches in our division. When this year started and even into week5 or 6, I didn't think there was any way I would want to see Gannon get fired this year. I don't feel like I understand your comment here. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and Jackson all around at that time. Also, I don't know that I am willing to turn my nose up at two 11 win seasons. The upside is no one really identified McDonald to be what he is. We as fans don’t really have enough information to know one way or another.

People forget that the AFC was cheeks during his his period.
The Browns traded three 1sts, two 4ths, and a 3rd for Deshaun Watson, and then gave Watson 230 million with every penny guaranteed (uncutable). Watson then proceeded to play like one of the worst QBs of all time. They took a swing on a QB and missed in the worst way possible. That trade will still be effecting their roster even 5 years from now.Keim was a 2x Exec of the Year. Burrow wasn’t around for that first 11 win season, and the second 11-win season was fraudulent because they played the pupu platter of NFC West (2-2) and AFC South (4-0) plus fourth-place opponents from the prior year. Every team in the AFC North had a winning record that year.I don't feel like I understand your comment here. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and Jackson all around at that time. I, personally, don't know how I feel about Stefanski as a potential HC other than I don't love it, but I also feel like you could do a lot worse.
