The 2026 Super Bowl is two weeks away, with four teams left to compete to play in the big game.
This past weekend's divisional round was tough, with two games going into overtime, eliminating the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears. The AFC and NFC Championship Games are sure to be tight matchups.
Although the road to the Super Bowl is long and challenging, some fans believe it's all fake. A popular conspiracy theory claims the two competing teams in the Super Bowl can be predicted each year by the Super Bowl logo, which is released months before the playoffs even begin.
Here's the story behind the theory and what teams are believed to be on their way to the Super Bowl.
The theory is that the colors included in that year's Super Bowl logo are the colors of the two teams that will play in the Super Bowl that year.
The theory came to be after fans started to notice that teams that made it to the big game had their colors incorporated into the big game logo for that year. The NFL Super Bowl logo is released a year before the big game, so there's no way anyone could accurately predict which teams would be playing each year.
So this isn't just an arbitrary theory; there is some evidence to it — or coincidences, believers say.
The logo for Super Bowl LX was revealed in February 2025 and features a multitude of bright colors, making it difficult to narrow down which teams it could represent.
Pink and blue are the main colors featured in this year's brightly colored logo; however, since no teams have pink in their jerseys, the main colors to look for are blue, green and yellow.
As we get closer to the Super Bowl, this really narrows down which two teams could play according to the logo theory. Here are the colors of each team and how it corresponds with the Super Bowl 2026 logo.

Each team has at least two incorporating colors in the Super Bowl logo besides the Broncos, and the main colors in the logo are blue and yellow. Based on the logo theory, this could mean the Patriots (blue and red) and the Rams (blue and yellow) are the two teams to play in Super Bowl LX.
The championship games are this Sunday, Jan. 25, with the Patriots facing the Broncos at 1 p.m. and the Rams playing the Seahawks at 4:30 p.m. (Arizona time.)
Super Bowl LX is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

What is the NFL Super Bowl logo theory?

- For Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the logo featured red, orange and yellow tones. The teams to play that year were the Los Angeles Rams, sporting blue and yellow uniforms, and the Cincinnati Bengals, wearing orange and black.
- The logo for Super Bowl LVII in 2023, which was played in Glendale, shows a red-rock desert background with pink, teal and orangey-red colors. The teams that played that year were the red Kansas City Chiefs and green Philadelphia Eagles, which are similar enough to the logo colors for the theory to continue.
- However, the Super Bowl LVIII logo in 2024 featured a purple and pinkish-red color, which did not predict the showdown between the Chiefs and the 49ers, as both teams' colors are red and do not incorporate any purple. True believers of the conspiracy theory think this happened because the purple Baltimore Ravens had to be eliminated to make way for Travis Kelce's Chiefs and his pop-star girlfriend, Taylor Swift, to draw more fans to the big game.
- The Super Bowl LIX logo in 2025 was green and red coloring to it, and once again, the Chiefs and Eagles played in the Super Bowl, keeping the theory alive.
